I stumbled across Starcom recently after an extremely long break away from it. I hadn't seen an episode since I was a child, so seeing it again brought up a lot of nostalgia and memories. But after seeing it again, I did realise how very cheesy it actually was. It hasn't exactly dated well, and it does seem very glossy and, indeed, extremely "'80's". But an animated series from a person's youth always hold a special place in their hearts, and while this isn't my favourite show from those times, it's still a lot of fun. You become almost like a kid again when watching it, it's still as exciting as ever. It could never be put back on again today, it wouldn't stand up well with the shows of today, but it's certainly a hell of a lot better than most of the trash that passes for children's television nowadays. It was also rather intelligent, it wasn't a brainless action series. It's just an extremely fun show. If you manage to get hold of some episodes, give them a whirl. It's one heck of a ride, but don't have any expectations and Starcom will be a treat.
