I just saw Sex and Chocolate for the first time on our local PBS station. It was interesting to see Dawn French in a role that had a serious side to it and she handles it beautifully. The movie was wonderfully unique because it took a standard story(ie: a woman feels restless with her life and wonders about "what ifs")and makes it interesting by not taking the standard movie path of having a horrible husband and the romantic past boyfriend. I agree with another review that said there are no "villains" in this movie. The husband was kind and loving and it gave the drama a greater impact because you liked everyone involved. The movie had a nice relaxed pace that might not appeal to most of my fellow Americans(who seem to prefer constant jump cutting), but if you enjoy nicely paced movies like Gosford Park and Sliding Doors, you'll enjoy this movie too.
