Funny as hell, 21 February 2006

The version I saw of this film was the Blockbuster rental with a
similar title, but a swear word in it.
This film was funny as hell. It was also true to the bone. If you have
ever spent time in Hollywood or the area around it, you will understand
the humor. If not, you may not 'get it' at all.
The story of two people in the business struggling to make it until
they finally reach a breaking point, it is a rare gem. It states it is
a drama, but it is a drama as much as Deer Hunter is a comedy.
Loren Dean is wonderful, as always, as a supporting actor. Jamie
Kennedy was able to hold his own well. His performance is especically
impressive during the poodle scene. The only downside was Carmen
Electra but we can't have everything.
This is a good film., 14 May 2010

This is one of my favorite movies. It's funny and clever and surprising
in a way that movies used to be in the good old days (the seventies?).
It's not nearly as horrible as some of the reviews here spell out in
excruciating detail. You'd think, from the negative reviews, that this
was made by a self-indulgent director, with a no-talent cast, poorly
edited and lacking any coherent plot.
Nothing could be further from the truth--which makes me wonder why such
evil reviews were posted. This movie is very well made. The casting is
perfect. The acting is first rate. The film as a whole comes together
in a way that just "clicks." It's a very good little art film about
Hollywood that has been very unfairly treated--not just ignored, but
condemned. I would recommend that if you are a film buff and you liked,
say, "Singing in the Rain" (not that I'm comparing them) or "Barton
Fink" you should do yourself a favor and see this. If you hate it,
well, you have your reasons. As for me, I will keep watching this
classic over and over and over. And enjoying it.

Loren Dean is HILARIOUS!!!!, 11 December 2006

Loren Dean (who i never heard of before this movie)was hilarious as the overfed, over-drugged, oversexed, imbecile, B-movie star, whose career is spinning out of control, Jamie Kennedy was okay as the straight man and Amy Smart looking stunning, loved the scene where Kyle Carey (Dean) finds out Amy Smart's(character)father is the head of Columbia studios and coked out of it, replies, "Who knew he had such a foxy daughter" and the Carey's philosophy on the "Law of the Jungle" priceless, the Jew references about his agent, "He's the the greediest Jew in town" and "put that Jew spin on it". This movie had me rolling the whole time, highly recommended!

After seeing this movie I realized that Jamie Kennedy is one of the most talented, under appreciated actors in the business., 13 August 2000

Starfucker (which reads Starstruck on my box) was the most amazing movie I have ever seen. I thought that it was one of the best movies I have ever seen. So why not a 10? Nothing is perfect. Jamie Kennedy proves why he is one of my favorite actors in this very interesting look at a darker side of Hollywood. I have forced a few others to watch the movie and they all agreed that it was an outstanding flick.

This movie is just so good! Despite Carmen Electra, this has to be one of the better films I have seen in awhile. Jamie Kennedy is just amazing, and Loren Dean plays an insane spoiled movie star very well. The plot is great as well. It's all very real which is scary. It says here that it's a drama, but this is one of the damn funniest dramas I have ever seen. Go check it out.

An amazing movie..., 29 December 1998

I found this film to be outstanding. There's nothing more refreshing than a blatantly sexual film depicting overweight bakers in a race against time, trying to prevent death by popcorn drowning. What's more, the ending, a satirical look at today's current events, is more satisfying than that of the likes of the Shawshank Redemption, or the Deer Hunter. I give this movie a ten out of ten, for not only good acting, but a horribly unbelievable plot which actually seems plausible.

Starf*cker , what i thought it was called Starstruck. Oh well it was an ok film i guess but on the other hand it wasnt. Loren Dean has what it takes to became a great headlining actor. His role in this film however is not going to be the one to get him there. This film was somewhat funny but other then that there wasnt much to it. I would not recommend this film to anyone unless they like stupid, very stupid humour.

Jaime Kennedy should stick to Scream movies, 4 January 2001

I have declared that Starstruck should be erased from the minds of the public and from Hollywood. This movie was the most horrible thing to hit a film reel since "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer". At no point during the movie did I see anything that resembled quality or acting, with the exception of the lovely Amy Smart (Outside Providence). She was the only saving grace for this entire film . Not since Rip Torn's "Beastmaster" have I been more willing to throw a movie out the window. Garbage like this should never be made and I consider "Starstruck" to be a complete waste of the production company's money and my time. Lucky for me this was on a movie channel and I didn't have to pay to watch one of the biggest wastes of film in cinema history
