Karyn Kusama is set to direct the upcoming horror movie “Breed” based on the book by Chase Novak, Variety reports. The story centers on a wealthy New York couple whose experiences with an Eastern European fertility clinic a decade ago come back to haunt them.

The script is being written by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, who will also produce. Scott Frank is also producing for Fox via his recently executed production deal with the studio. Kusama, Hay, and Manfredi previously worked together on the 2015 thriller “The Invitation,” starring Tammy Blanchard and Logan Marshall-Green. Scott Spencer, who uses the pen name Chase Novak, previously wrote the novels “Endless Love,” which was turned into a film of the same name in 2014, and “Waking the Dead,” adapted for the screen in 2000.

Karyn Kusama, who directed the 2o16 Logan Marshall-Green cult horror thriller “The Invitation,” has signed on to direct the upcoming Fox horror film “Breed,” and she’s bringing her team with her. “Invitation” writers and producers Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi will reprise those roles for “Breed,” which is based on a novel of the same name by Chase Novak — whose pen name is Scott Spencer (“Endless Love,” “Waking the Dead”). “Breed” follows an upscale New York couple who are struggling to conceive a child and turn to a questionable and controversial Eastern European clinic. Karyn Kusama will direct Fox’s upcoming horror movie “Breed,” based on the Chase Novak novel of the same name.

Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi are producing and writing the adaptation, and Scott Frank is producing for Fox under his new production deal with the studio.

The project re-unites Kusama, Hay, and Manfredi after the trio teamed worked on the thriller “The Invitation,” starring Logan Marshall-Green and Tammy Blanchard, earlier this year.

Chase Novak is the pen name for Scott Spencer, who also wrote “Endless Love” and “Waking the Dead.” “Breed” follows a wealthy New York couple who turns to a controversial Eastern European fertility clinic to conceive when all conventional methods fail. BBC’s Peter Salmon Joins Endemol Shine as Chief Creative Officer

London — Peter Salmon, the director of the BBC’s inhouse production unit BBC Studios, is leaving to become chief creative officer at TV production-distribution giant Endemol Shine Group, which is co-owned by 21st Century Fox and Apollo Global Management.

Endemol Shine also announced Tuesday that Emma Moloney, formerly general counsel at News Corp’s newspaper group News UK, will become its general counsel, leading the legal affairs team as well as overseeing the distribution business, working alongside Endemol Shine Intl. CEO Cathy Payne.

Salmon will lead the creative direction of the group’s worldwide network, which has 120 production companies in more than 30 markets and a portfolio of more than 600 titles across genres and platforms, produced in more than 50 languages. The slate includes “Big Brother,” “Black Mirror,” “Broadchurch,” “Deal or No Deal,” “Grantchester,” “Hell on Wheels,” “Humans,” “MasterChef,” “Peaky Blinders,” “The Biggest Loser,” “The Fall,” “The Tunnel,” “The Money Drop” and “Your Face Sounds Familiar. »

Why not start every day with one quick shotgun blast of positivity? Noah Hawley is a True Believer. There is no reason whatsoever that a television show based on Fargo should work, but after finishing season two of the FX series, I am blown away by what he's accomplished and by the sheer force of his love for Joel and Ethan Coen. Homage and inspiration are similar, but not the exact same things. Homage is fine, but I think you can only go so far with it. Inspiration, though, is something else.
