The Jade Pussycat, a cat figurine with mysterious powers and worth half a million dollars, has been stolen. But have no fear as Johnny Wadd (the legendary John Holmes) is on the case and he's willing to go to any lengths find Pual, his friend's brother, and get the pussycat get back (and with Holmes that a LOT of length). But the bad guys are after the figurine as well after realizing the one they have is a counterfeit. Written and directed by porn revolutionary, Bob Chinn, this film takes you back to a day when you had a compelling story with your hot sex. Word of warning tho, there IS a rape scene, so beware of that. Also be aware that it ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger, so it's advised that you watch "the China Cat" soon after you finish this film.

A classic golden age Johnny Wadd film from the good ole year of 1977. This one involves Mr.Wadd (..call me Johnny) involved in investigating a dissapearance that involves him in the search of the sought after Jade Pussycat worth half a million dollars. This was when porno producers actually cared about the movie rather than "wham bam thank you ma'am" sex every second. Linda Wong looks lovely as does Georgina Spelvin who has never looked lovier (cause in DMJ she was quite the..woof woof)..definitly check it out..one of the best

As far as I'm concerned, Johnny Wadd will always be the definitive recurring film character. Practically overflowing with charisma, John C Holmes seems apt at sticking his personality in all the right places. This Holmes classic finds Johnny Wadd on the trail of A fabled Jade Pussycat, which is very valuable and in danger of coming into the possesion of an evil gangster. It's up to Johnny and his 13 inch partner to fight and charm his way through femme fatals, sleazy lowlives, and coming face to face with the jade pussycat before it's to late. If John Holmes credibility as an actor, and not just a phallic symbol were ever doubted, The Jade Pussycat, singlehandedly dispells any such thoughts. One of the big man's best.

While most of the acting is subpar (excluding Georgina Spelvin), this is perhaps one of the better-made films of the "Johnny Wadd" detective series. The exterior shots in San Francisco lend to the overall feel of this film. Remember, during the Golden Age of Porn, there were only two locales where one could shoot: San Francisco (not The Valley) and New York City. In an age where today's run of the mill porn is filled with silicon, bad tattoos, bikini lines & gonzo camera-work, "The Jade Pussycat" comes as a breath of fresh air. All i can really say about this movie is that it is simply great!!! When i rented it I thought it would just be another corny porno but it actually has a good one at that its a porn! I highly recommend it, although it maybe hard to find(took me 4 months of searching)its worth the hassle!!!!!!I found out about this film through an interview I had read that about the ten films that influenced boogie nights the most!!!!!!!

The Jade Pussycat (1977) was one of the most popular porn films from the 70's. The legendary John Holmes plays the sleazy Private Eye, Johnny Wadd. He's been hired to find the mysterious "Jade pussycat". This idol has a great powers, sexual powers. It can increase a person's sex drive into hyper-speed. Many people are looking for this statue. Who needs viagra when you have the "jade Pussycat"? Bob Chinn directed and shot this movie on 16mm, grainy film stock. He also appears uncredited as the leader of a chinese syndicate looking for the idol. As usual "Johnny Wadd" puts in some work, hitting it from all sides. Throw in a couple of girl-on-girl scenes, gratuitous "shots" of John Holmes "stout fellow" and viola! Instant cult status. Unlike most porno productions the direction is good and it has a decent storyline.

Recommended.
