It's Official! Madonna To Perform During Super Bowl!

4 December 2011 8:09 PM, PST | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Madonna will perform at the Super Bowl Xlvi Halftime show, the NFL confirmed on Sunday.

The NFL championship game, which will take place on February 5th at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, will see the pop legend team up with Cirque du Soleil, her frequent collaborator Jamie King, and visual artists the Moment Factory in a telecast on NBC. The news was first reported back in October by Sb Nation, though no official word has come until now.

After Janet Jackson's infamous "wardrobe malfunction" in 2004, the NFL began going with older, classic rock performers for its marquee event. Paul McCartney came after Jackson and co-star Justin Timberlake; the next few years featured The Rolling Stones, Prince, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Bruce Springsteen and then The Who. Last year, the game mixed it up, hiring The Black Eyed Peas, Usher and Slash. »

Top 10: Ray Liotta’s most memorable roles

4 October 2011 12:02 PM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

With Street Kings 2: Motor City out on DVD this week (review here), which stars Ray Liotta and Shawn Hatosy as a pair of detectives investigating a spate of cop killings, we thought we’d take a look at star Ray Liotta’s most memorable roles on both the big, and small screen. So here it is, our Top 10 most memorable Ray Liotta roles…

10) Turbulence

A film that makes the list purely because of the insane performances of everyone involved, none more so than Ray Liotta as Ryan Weaver a murderer who is part of a Christmas Eve transfer of prisoners on a transcontinental 747 commercial flight. Of course once the aircraft takes off Liotta and his motley crew hijack the plane, with only stewardess Terri Halloran (Lauren Holly) to stop them And land the plane!

9) Hannibal

Another Liotta flick that only makes the list beacuse of it’s sheer ridiculousness »

Madonna To Perform At The Super Bowl?

3 October 2011 10:42 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Perhaps the world's biggest pop star, Madonna may be gearing up to perform on the world's biggest stage.

The multi-platinum artist will provide the halftime entertainment at Super Bowl Xlvi, SBNation.com is reporting. The game, to be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis this February 5th, would mark her first Super Bowl appearance; she nearly took the stage in 1998 and 2000, but negotiations fell apart both times.

Since Janet Jackson's infamous "wardrobe malfunction" in 2004, the NFL has stuck largely to older, classic rock performers. Paul McCartney followed up Jackson and co-star Justin Timberlake, with subsequent years featuring The Rolling Stones, Prince, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Bruce Springsteen and then The Who. Last year, the game went back to a more contemporary act, hiring The Black Eyed Peas, Usher and Slash.

Presumably, those in charge of the show are expecting to get older, charitable Madonna, not Material Girl, »

It's Here! Ok Go Debuts Muppets Video

23 August 2011 7:41 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

When it comes to feel-good viral potential, it's hard to think of a more potent duo than the band Ok Go and the Muppets.

As performers on The Green Album, a collection of Muppets covers by artists including Ok Go, My Morning Jacket and Weezer, the band behind the acclaimed "treadmill video" for "Here It Goes Again" got the chance to film another music video with Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and their assorted friends.

The Huffington Post caught up with lead singer Damian Kulash at the 2011 Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco, where the band performed to an estimated audience of 45,000 at the festival's main stage. Kulash, an affable man with a Gap-clean aesthetic, who is clearly comfortable chatting with reporters, was eager to talk about the upcoming video and just how great it is to be on their own label, Paracadute.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Chosen For Mistaken-Identity Indie Comedy Jewtopia

15 July 2011 10:55 AM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

The ghosts who whisper to Jennifer Love Hewitt have advised her to take some truly strange cinematic projects over the years. Outside of the sturdy teen comedy Can.t Hardly Wait and the underrated black comedy Heartbreakers (with Gene Hackman and a game Sigourney Weaver), Hewitt has squandered her Party of Five fame on efforts ranging from Garfield and its abysmal sequel to Jackie Chan.s forgettable The Tuxedo. Maybe her next picture, Jewtopia, will be the one to turn the actress.s career around. And no, despite the title, this is not an edgy, controversial, scathing work of racially sensitive drama that will challenge Hewitt.s range. Instead, Variety reports that the adaptation of Bryan Fogel.s comedic play mixes the mistaken-identity mayhem of Wedding Crashers with the over-the-top stereotypical punchlines of My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Honestly, my interest in the project just waned. And yet Jewtopia should »

Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, U2 and more top Forbes' highest paid musicians list

17 June 2011 1:53 PM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

It pays to do what you love -- at least for these lucky (and talented) musicians.

Forbes has released their annual list of the 25 highest paid musicians in the world, complete with a few staples and some fresh faces thrown in the mix, as well. U2 takes the cake with hefty $195 million, earning them the No. 1 spot on the list, thanks in large part to an international stadium tour.

Trailing not far behind are fellow rockers Bon Jovi at $125 mil, with Elton John rounding out the top three at $100 mil.

On the pop front, Lady Gaga earned herself $90 mil while Justin Bieber, the youngest on the list, took home $53 mil. Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Rihanna all made the cut, as well.

Worth noting are the King and Queen of R&B, Jay-z and Beyonce, pulling in a combined income of $72 mil. This marks the first year since their 2008 wedding »

Justin Bieber, Antoine Dodson score Webby Award nominations

12 April 2011 10:03 AM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

It only stands to reason that the man kid who launched a thousand Internet memes would be nominated for a Webby Award. The awards are given out annually for the best Web content and voting is now open for 2011's nominees.

Justin Bieber was nominated for his "Justin Bieber Takes Over Funny Or Die" video, as was current "Dancing with the Stars" competitor Ralph Macchio for his "Wax on F*** off with Ralph Macchio" clip. Zach Galifianakis was nominated for Best Web Host for his Funny or Die "Between Two Ferns" series.

We'll just go ahead and say that Funny or Die dominates most of the Online Film and Video categories, though Isabella Rossellini's "Green Porno" -- in which the actress explores the sex lives of bugs -- also scored a nomination in the "Experimental and Weird" category.

Former paratrooper has co-written The Veteran, a fictional story inspired by the experiences of soldiers returning to civilian life

A former paratrooper who suffered post-traumatic stress disorder after serving in Iraq and Afghanistan has co-written a film exposing the mental wounds and acute desolation endured by many soldiers returning home to civilian life.

Robert Henry Craft, 53, from Broadstairs in Kent, has based the lead character of The Veteran on his own experience of serving on the frontline and "fighting his demons".

The film, which cost £3.1m to shoot, stars 28-year-old Toby Kebbell, a Bafta-nominated actor, and Brian Cox, the Olivier award-winner, who plays an officer in the security services. It is set to spark controversy by focusing on the large number of veterans returning to a life on the streets, or crime and family break-up.

"I had post-traumatic stress disorder and that's from more than 20 years' service," Craft said. His film, »

The Black Eyed Peas Have The Best Super Bowl Halftime Shows In History To Live Up To

4 February 2011 9:00 AM, PST | MTV Newsroom | See recent MTV Newsroom news »

This weekend is going to be a massive one for the worlds of music, television and sports. The Super Bowl is finally here, and the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers will be squaring off against one another to determine who is this year's NFL champion is only about the fifth-most important thing happening over the next few days. In addition to the game, there will be the headline-grabbing advertisements (including a number of movie trailer premieres and appearances by both Justin Bieber and Eminem), the new episode of "Glee" that will follow the big game (which features the much-talked-about "Thriller" sequence), the national anthem care of Christina Aguilera (which bodes well for the Steelers) and the fact that this could be the most-watched American television broadcast in history (besting last year's Super Bowl, which drew 106.5 million viewers).

There's also the halftime show, which is always »
