Goofs

In the fallout shelter, the father sets up a mock television with a film projector and a rear projection screen. He makes a point of saying that it uses a mirror, and the image (an episode of "The Honeymooners") is shown reversed. However, with that setup (which was relatively common back in the 1970s) the image would be normal, not reversed, because viewing through the rear screen is the second reversal. See more »

Quotes

Eve: What kind of wife are you looking for?
Adam: Oh um, well... one who's not a mutant.
Eve: [laughs] No dogs, huh. OK. Cool.
Adam: And if it's possible, I'd like to marry someone from Pasadena.
Eve: [laughs] Um, when do you need her by?
Adam: Two weeks?
Eve: Well, I can probably get you laid in two weeks, but to locate a non-mutant wife from Pasadena takes some time.
Adam: That's what I was afraid of.

If there was an Oscar for "best little comedy"...

..."Blast" would have likely won. It boasts excellence in all aspects of the film from story to casting to acting to sets to costumes, music, etc. This tight, creative, unpretentious, and lightly romantic comedy romp between a hip "new millennium" chick and an old fashioned stuck-in-a-fallout-shelter-for-35-years guy is a breath of fresh Hollywood air deserving of it's critical acclaim.
