After the revolution in 1821, in the village of Pentagioi in Central Greece, Maria, a beautiful, handful girl, baptized by Father Gavriil, gets all the young men in the area burning with desire for her. The girl falls in love with a rich shepherd's son, but she is abducted by gang leader Lamaras. The royal couple Otto and Amalia are visiting the area and meet the girl. Maria and her lover kill her brother and go to prison. After her release thanks to Father Gavriil, Maria puts herself at the head of the men under gang leader Davelis and returns to the village to take revenge on the people who had treated her badly Written by

The man playing King Otto's role was not an actor, but an officer of the Presidential (formerly Royal) Guard, wearing the real, official uniform of the king. Ms Andreadou, an amateur actress, who played Queen Amalia, wore the queen's reception dress, a museum offer. Some interior scenes were filmed in Otto's first palace, at Klafthmonos Square, while others in the main entrance of the Old Palace. See more
