TV Land has ordered a fifth season of Hot in Cleveland, which will bring she comedy to its 100th episode.

According to a study by Nielsen, Twitter can predict a show's success in the ratings. Basically, an increase in how much people tweet about a show predicts an eventual increase in the ratings. That seems obvious, but this study measures and quantifies the connection between the two.

Former New York mayor Ed Koch passed away this morning at the age of 88.

Koch had been hospitalized in the past few months for various ailments, including fatigue and shortness of breath, and is believed to have died of congestive heart failure, according to The Associated Press.

The outspoken Bronx native served as a Congressional representative from 1969 to 1997 and was then elected as Mayor of New York City.

Koch's reign as NYC's mayor lasted until 1989, as the beloved politician was twice reelected as mayor by overwhelming majorities of 75 and 78 percent, respectively.

Beyond his affection for politics, the treasured New York politician was an entertainment lover and made cameos in dozens of films and television shows over the years, including appearances on Saturday Night Live.

Combining his love for politics and entertainment, Koch was also a judge on The People's Court for a few years in the late '90s.

I've been watching the right try to claim that Downton Abbey is a conservative show. Jonah Goldberg wrote about it a couple weeks back and now Fox & Friends repeated that Downton challenges how "rich people... are reviled". Wow. That just says so much about how little they pay attention to everything. I'll be willing to consider that idea when Lord Grantham orders Mrs. Patmore to start using questionable ingredients when she cooks for the staff so that he can afford to have fancier wines with dinner.

Fox's ads for The Following broke a rule for television and asked viewers to watch the show on the DVR. Vulture explains what this means and how its another step in changing how viewers watch TV and how the industry responds to it. »
