Shameless.
McBuff21 February 2001
This crude farce telling the thin story of raunchy lower class family moving into luxurious villa in an exclusive neighborhood with chaotic results is a shameless ripoff of the vastly superior Dutch comedy "Flodder" which managed something this movie desperately needs: Laughs. Steen Springborg is Elvis Hansen, head of the family, but he is neither funny nor charming, and the supporting players, consisting of mostly talented stage and film actors, are completely wasted. This marked the inauspicious directing debut for stage director Jan Hertz. Painfully unfunny and symptomatic of the poor state of Danish comedy cinema in the eighties (like Walter & Carlo, Den Røde Tråd etc.). Makes "The Beverly Hillbillies" look like The Marx Brothers.
