4 Year Olds Can Watch Stephen King’s It: and Other Questionable Decisions My Parents Made Raising Me

2 July 2015 10:57 AM, PDT | iconsoffright.com | See recent Icons of Fright news »

The days of sneaking into living rooms to catch midnight horror movies when your parents were fast asleep have now been replaced by minimizing Netflix browser windows when Mom thinks you’re playing Minecraft. The elusive “horror movie back rooms” in video stores are now just a few key words into Google. Considering how easy it is to be exposed to graphic horror films, the discussion of when it is “appropriate” for children to see horror films has become a huge topic for debate amongst parents. What is too scary? When is the right time to intentionally scare your kids? Is there ever a “right” time?

My parents took the approach of “anytime is a good enough time to show our kid fucked up stuff.” One of my earliest memories I have as a child was sitting next to my mother as she binge-watched Stephen King’S It. The ironic »

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are hoping to make a movie version of their highly successful Book of Mormon stage musical.

Since launching on Broadway in 2011, the play has received many awards and has been staged around the Us and at London's West End, with an Australian production arriving in 2017.

Speaking to IGN, the duo said they definitely want to start working on a big screen adaptation in the near future.

"It's something we want to do," Stone said. "We don't have any specific plans but yeah, we'd love to do it at some point."

Parker said that the various productions around the world has given them the appetite to revisit the project.

"It's going on in three different places in three hours and like, now there's a bunch of people in it that we've never met before.

"Just being able to kind of get a definitive version back together sounds like a good thing. »

Hating Seth MacFarlane: A Timeline

He was one of the youngest TV executive producers in the medium's history, created not one but two successful animated programs, hosted the Oscars and had a blockbuster comedy bring in beaucoup box office receipts. He has contributed $1 million to the Reading Rainbow kickstarter fund and produced the recent reboot of the classic science series Cosmos; Harvard named him their 2011 Humanist of the Year. Yet Seth MacFarlane has managed to inspire an intense, rabid hatred of his raunchy comedy and retro-dude attitudes that's been as fervent as the fanbase that »

'Ted 2' is filthy-dirty, but who are some of the foulest mouths on screen ever?

26 June 2015 11:56 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

"Ted 2" features the talking teddy bear and Mark Wahlberg tapped in for Round 2 of some of the filthiest, dirtiest, swearingest, foulest hijinx and line-reads of 2015. But many have come before Ted and his human. While it'd be a strange thing to say these are our "favorite" foul-mouths on the big and small screen -- because funny foulmouths can also be bigots and bullies and brain-deads -- we will say these are among the most notable dirty birds in film and TV history. Below are characters from "Orange Is The New Black," "Scarface," "South Park," a Woody Allen flick, the current Doctor Who, an Alec Baldwin turn, a recent Oscar winner, a horror movie, a couple of HBO faves and more. Who is your favorite cursing character? Sexual-pun-making filth founts? Who would you add to this list? »

Second Opinion – Entourage (2015)

21 June 2015 5:47 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Entourage, 2015.

Directed by Doug Ellin.

Starring Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Jeremy Piven, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, Haley Joel Osment, Constance Zimmer, Emmanuelle Chrique and Billy Bob Thornton.

Synopsis:

Movie star Vincent Chase, together with his boys Eric, Turtle, and Johnny, are back – and back in business with super agent-turned-studio head Ari Gold on a risky project that will serve as Vince’s directorial debut.

HBO’s Entourage, a show about the glitz, glamour and dark underbelly of Hollywood, half inspired by co-developer Mark Wahlberg’s real early life in tinsel town, is something of an acquired taste.  Therefore I should really preface this by saying how big of a fan I am.  It would be deceptive not to.  And by big, I mean massive. If fans were movie stars, I’d be Vincent Chase. Perhaps (okay, undoubtedly) that’s the reason I enjoyed this film so much; certainly, any film »

Oliver Davis reviews 2000Ad Prog 1935…

Borag Thungg, Earthlets!

After last week’s action-packed assassin fight, Judge Dredd goes slows the pace with an exposition issue. Dredd travels to the Emerald Isles (read: Ireland) to find out why Judge Fintan was targeted. Other than a few interesting details about the assassin Stonefish (he routinely wipes his mind to protect his clients’ identities), not much happens. Still, the Emerald Isles Judges have green outfits. It’s cute. 6/10.

What isn’t cute, not even a little bit, is Absalom. Not its character, not the strip itself. Paranormal detective Harry Absalom, in the space of five pages, makes light of Operation Yewtree, insults an Amy Winehouse mural, and recounts the wartime events of Iwo Jima to an Asian couple in a bar. He’s a nasty piece of work.

Problem is, he’s also an annoying piece of work. Being overly offensive can be fun. »

This time around, the boys will be members of Coon & Friends, taking on a dangerous threat and dragging the new kid along for the ride. The trailer showed off the progression from the last game, as well as introducing the story and typically crass humour that we’ve come to expect from the show.

For Honor Crashes Ubisoft Conference With Announcement And Gameplay Trailers

15 June 2015 3:40 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Immediately after the reveal of an unexpected South Park: The Stick of Truth sequel, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot yielded the floor to allow the announcement of a brand new series. For Honor, a multiplayer melee combat game, introduced itself with an action-packed CG trailer that pitted knights, vikings and Bushido warriors against one another in a cacophony of close-quarters combat.

Game director Jason Vandenberghe took to the stage to show off a PS4 gameplay demo for For Honor, which looks to combine the scale of battle found in Dynasty Warriors with the precise swordplay of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. Playing as one of the three warrior factions, teams of four engage in third person duels using lock-on mechanics. Various positions and swing types seem key to getting past your opponents defense, and delivering what look to be rather elaborate killing blows.
