On January 25, 1982, after the broadcast of Mérette on TSR, Christian Defaye received the director Jean-Jacques Lagrange and the actress Anne Bos. The shy 10-year-old girl was asked about the most difficult scenes in the film, including the one in which she strips completely and run naked into a pond.
The script was written by Jean-Louis Roncoroni and directed by Jean-Jacques Lagrange. It is based on an adaptation of a text by Gottfried Keller whose action takes place in German-speaking Switzerland in the 18th century. Jean-Louis Roncoroni and Jean-Jacques Lagrange preferred to transpose this story into the Calvinist milieu of the XIX.
