The new movie is based upon Charles Addams’ original cartoons in The New Yorker, and has been scripted by Pamela Pettler (Corpse Bride, Monster House).

The Addams Family revolves around the macabre family of Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester and Grandmama, who live with butler Lurch, and disembodied hand Thing.

Addams’ original cartoons spawned numerous adaptations, most notably the classic 1960s TV series, as well as the feature films The Addams Family (1991), Addams Family Values (1993) and Addams Family Reunion (1998).

Fan-Made Poster Imagines Addams Family Reboot With Oscar Isaac And Eva Green

A movie reboot of The Addams Family has long been in the works. For years, the plan was for Tim Burton – natch – to direct a stop-motion film featuring the ooky, kooky brood. However, once he vacated the project back in 2014, things stalled. Word has it, though, that it’s being reignited as a CGI flick from MGM. Conrad Vernon, the co-director of the R-rated Sausage Party, is set to helm, working off a script from Pamela Pettler (Corpse Bride, Monster House).

While that’s all well and good, the internet still has its heart set on a live-action movie. Social media users have even collectively agreed on the perfect actors to resurrect Gomez and Morticia: Oscar Isaac and Eva Green. The idea has been doing the rounds online for a while, but now, Boss Logic has set his digital art skills into imagining what such a film would look like,

The Addams Family: animated reboot has Sausage Party director

Ryan Lambie Oct 13, 2017

The director of Sausage Party has reportedly boarded the animated reboot of The Addams Family...

They're creepy, they're kooky, and obviously, altogether ooky. But for over 20 years now, The Addams Family has remained firmly away from the silver screen - the last we saw of America's spookiest (fictional) family was 1993's sequel, Addams Family Values

Thanks to MGM, however, Morticia, Gomez and their unholy offspring will be making a triumphant return over the next couple of years - albeit in animated form. Word of the reboot has bubbled away for some time now, but it looks as though things are moving forward: The Hollywood Reporter has revealed the news that Conrad Vernon, best known as the director of Sausage Party, will be overseeing the project.

For the new movie, the

From Nightmare to Family: Bringing Skeletons to Life in ‘Coco’
Skeletons are no stranger to animation — or reanimation. One of Disney’s earliest short films, Skeleton Dance, featured some surprisingly dexterous skeletons dancing in a graveyard, and animated films throughout the years have kept up the spooky tradition, from the 1993 classic Nightmare Before Christmas to 2005’s The Corpse Bride. It was not even the […]

Disney's Live-Action Aladdin Casts Marwan Kenzari As Jafar

  • LRM Online
One of the many live-action adaptations of their animated classics that Disney has in the works is Aladdin. Set to be directed by Guy Ritchie from a script by John August (Big Fish, Corpse Bride), the film has been seeking out actors of Middle-Eastern, or Indian, descent for the main roles to avoid any sort of whitewashing controversy. Already cast are Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie. Mena Massoud was cast as Aladdin, whereas Jasmine will be played by Naomi Scott, who portrayed the Pink Ranger in this year's Power Rangers film. Will Smith, meanwhile, has already been tapped to play the Genie.

Is Tom Hardy Being Eyed For Jafar In The Aladdin Remake?

Tom Hardy’s in high demand these days, and why wouldn’t he be? He’s without a doubt one of the most talented, electrifying and downright incredible actors in Hollywood, absolutely knocking it out of the park no matter which role he finds himself in. Recently, The Dark Knight Rises star signed on to play Venom for Sony, which will no doubt be a darker and more mature outing for him, but it seems he’s looking to balance that out now with something a bit more kid friendly.

According to The Sun, director Guy Ritchie wants Hardy to play Jafar in the upcoming live-action remake of Disney’s Aladdin. The two have worked together before, back in the hugely underrated 2008 crime comedy RocknRolla, so they do have history and that can definitely help make this a reality. From what we understand, the pair have had conversations about the project but at this point,

Guy Ritchie Says It Would Be “Tough Not To Make Aladdin A Musical”

It’s probably safe to say that Disney’s push into live-action remakes has now gained a vast amount of additional momentum, with the news that this year’s Beauty And The Beast has become the highest-grossing PG film. That, combined with the fact that director Guy Ritchie is currently on the promotional trail for his latest film, King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword, means that many questions are being asked about his upcoming remake of Aladdin – most notably, whether it will be musical in nature.

To his credit, Ritchie isn’t shying away from the subject of his next big budget adventure. Rather, he provides a very clear, non-sensationalized update on where he is in the process of creating this new version of an old fan favourite.

“It’d be tough not make Aladdin a musical… I’ve really just immersed myself into that project. So I’m still looking for cast members,

Is Anushka Sharma’s ‘Phillauri’ inspired from Johnny Depp’s ‘Corpse Bride’?

  • FilmiPop
Anushka Sharma is back on the big screen with her upcoming film, Phillauri. The recently released trailer fetched a lot of appreciation from the fans. But on a closer inspection, many people have started speculating the film to be a rehashed version of popular Johnny Depp film, Corpse bride. The trailer saw Suraj Sharma, who in order to escape the curse of being Manglik, is forced to marry a tree. Little did he know, there is a friendly ghost, Anushka Sharma residing in that tree. The story then takes us to the love story between Anushka and Diljit’s character. In Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, Johnny Depp gets married to Emily Watson.
