‘Difficult People’ Review: Season 3 Is The Deepest Yet, Taking On Woody Allen, Politics, and Happiness

8 August 2017 9:33 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Difficult People” isn’t for everyone, but that’s a big factor in its charm. The always whipsmart, fast-paced comedy created by Julie Klausner is extremely insular in its focus on Julie (Klausner) and Billy (Billy Eichner), pop culture-obsessed New York comedians whose bad attitudes are often the cause of their problems. But that focus means that as the show has progressed, the characters have had the chance to… well, maybe not “grow,” in the traditional sitcom sense. However, they do seem capable of change.

Which is good news, as Season 3 of a series like this could easily fall into a more-of-the-same trap. The core principles of “Difficult People” haven’t been altered — Julie and Billy are still best friends, and still relatively disdainful of anyone outside their friendship. But, based on the five episodes screened, “Difficult People” isn’t interested in treading water this season, contributing to a richer, »

Difficult People Season 3 Opens With Big Bang Theory Protest, Mike Pence Conversion Therapy, Vanessa Williams

8 August 2017 8:40 AM, PDT | | See recent news »

Difficult People gets political, going wholly anti-“Bazinga!” in its Season 3 premiere.

The Hulu comedy returned Tuesday with three episodes, beginning with Billy and Julie interrupting CBS’ live broadcast of Sunday in the Park With George, which has been retitled Bazinga in the Park With George and stars the cast of The Big Bang Theory. Billy’s sign reads “Keep your Bazinga! out of my park,” and it’s perfect.

Chloe Grace Moretz on Growing Up, Hillary Clinton and Hollywood Sexism

8 August 2017 6:15 AM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

One year ago, the Democratic National Convention was buzzing with celebrities like Meryl Streep, Lena Dunham, and Elizabeth Banks. But none of them had closer proximity to the candidate than Chloë Grace Moretz, who took the stage 45 minutes before Hillary Clinton.

“It was one of the happiest moments of my life, that’s for sure,” recalls Moretz, 20, on a recent afternoon, sitting with her two-month-old pug, Ruby. The actress had such a plum spot at the DNC because organizers were hoping she’d reach first-time millennial voters.

Moretz has something in common with her multitasking generation: She knows what it’s like to burn out as a teenager. After appearing in dozens of movies since she was a pint-size kid, Moretz realized at 18 that she needed a yearlong break. She left her home in Los Angeles for a solitary vacation in Tulum, Mexico, embarked on a few road trips, dated and spent time with her friends — a »

Exclusive: Tony Hale, Billy’s Love Life and More Revelations About ‘Difficult People’ Season 3

7 August 2017 8:35 AM, PDT | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Normally a packed Italian restaurant and bar in the East Village of New York City, San Marzano has been transformed into Lola’s D’s Café (more on that name change in a bit), a less busy café run by Denise (Gabourey Sidibe) and Nate (Derrick Baskin), where Billy Epstein (Billy Eichner) works on Difficult People. During Et’s visit to the set of the Hulu comedy, which just so happens to be a day they’re filming scenes from the season three finale, things are noticeably different.

For one thing, there’s that name. Normally called D’s Café, the place has been taken over by Lola, an outspoken transgender waitress played by the bitingly funny Shakina Nayfack. “Lola saved us from Sephora,” Denise explains to the staff -- Billy, Lola, Denise, Nate and Matthew (Cole Escola), who has triumphantly returned from a Supermarket Sweep-turned-Scientology fiasco -- gathered around a table. But there’s »

‘Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows Of Valentia’ Game Review: A Gift From The Lord

Fire Emblem Fates was a Fire Emblem game like no other: intentionally difficult with a rushed translation and created to feed off of Awakening, a game that’s actually innovative. With the only positives being found in the game’s character design and main theme, Fire Emblem‘s version of The Maury Povich Show proved to be a crappy […]

With a new baby on the way, Jimmy Kimmel and his wife, Molly McNearney, recently went in for an ultrasound, and things did not go as planned.

Kimmel shared some home video footage of his wife's trip to the obstetrician on Monday's Jimmy Kimmel Live. The sweet family moment all went downhill when the host's long-time "mortal enemy," Matt Damon, walked through the door.

Despite his promise to stop having sex with Kimmel's wife, Damon claimed he's the one who got McNearney pregnant and came up with the perfect way to figure out who gets to be the dad: let the baby decide.
