Blake Eckard is what you’d call a “micro-budget” filmmaker. This means precisely how it sounds. Movies made on little to no budget, independent fare created by artists driven to have their visions come to fruition, regardless of any financial obstacles that would otherwise restrict such an endeavor. Eckard’s newest film is titled Bubba Moon Face, which he wrote and directed. With a title as odd as Bubba Moon Face, you may imagine the film being equally strange. On some level, this is certainly true, but its a subtle quirkiness that underlies the entire film, primarily a drama about a drifter named Horton (Tyler Messner) that returns to his rural roots for his mother’s funeral. While back home, his car breaks down and is forced to stay with his brother Stanton (Joe Hammerstone).
Horton is a reserved man, not an entirely happy man, and clearly removed from his »

The Associated Press is reporting that NBC Sports has made a deal to move its longtime home at 30 Rockefeller Plaza to Stamford, Conn., to take advantage of state tax incentives there. The move out of the network’s flagship headquarters would take the division 35 miles away to Connecticut, which is dialing up an economic development plan that includes luring companies away from their spendy and cramped Manhattan real estate. The AP reported that a government official with knowledge of the deal said details about the tax credits still have to be worked out between the legislature and NBC, but the city is already home to syndicated NBCUniversal shows Maury, The Jerry Springer Show and The Steve Wilkos Show and is the headquarters of NBC Sports Group sibling Versus. »

There’s a rather large elephant in the room and this time, I’m not talking about anybody’s peen. What exactly are we watching here? Is this a heavily manipulated reality show or a completely scripted hoax?
Duncan Roy’s tell-all blog, where he outs his date with Derek on last week's show as being fake and works to channel himself into some pretentious mountain-dwelling gas-bagish approximation of Henry David Thoreau, throws all of that into question.
Reading it flooded me with questions. Who are we? Is there a God? Why does Mad Men keep winning Emmys? I mean sure, it’s good and all. But there are tons of better shows. Why do they get to hog the spotlight year after …
Sorry. What was I saying? Oh yeah.
I’ve deployed a highly sophisticated technique when it comes to writing these recaps. I sit down, watch the show, »

Roadrunner Comedy is excited to announce that premiere comedian Doug Stanhope will be releasing new live CD/DVD package Oslo: Burning The Bridge To Nowhere on May 3rd, 2011. This is Roadrunner Comedy.s first release.
Recorded in an abandoned factory in the Grünerløkka suburb of Oslo, Norway, the performance is as spontaneous and unhinged as anything Stanhope has ever done. Originally a sewing machine factory converted to a German WWII bunker, the setting forOslo is anything but conventional. Whereas most comedy specials are filmed on an elaborate stage, Stanhope and Nikon Norway filled a dilapidated industrial space with lights and folding chairs, ultimately allowing the material be the focus of this release.
Oslo.s madcap backdrop mimics the process that led to the recording: Bjorn Opsahl, one of Norway.s most notorious photographers, planned only to do a portrait session with Stanhope in Long Beach. The shoot went so well »
