Storyline

While on a mission to observe the peaceful Ba'ku race, Lt. Commander Data suddenly behaves as if having to fear for his existence. The immortal Ba'ku, whose planet offers regenerative radiation and therefore incredible lifespans, live in harmony with nature and reject advanced technology. Their planet and their culture is secretly researched by the Federation associated with an alien race called the Son'a. But the Son'a intend to abduct the Ba'ku in order to take the planet for themselves and for the Starfleet officials who all would like to regenerate their bodies. But they did not think of the loyalty of Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the Enterprise-E to the Prime Directive. Written by Julian Reischl <julianreischl@mac.com>

Trivia

Anthony Zerbe originally auditioned for the role of Ru'afo, and was considered to be the best choice for this. However, the production team decided instead to cast him in the role of Vice Admiral Dougherty. During Zerbe's audition, instead of reading the lines provided, he recited "Dante's Inferno" before seamlessly moving into the script. Jonathan Frakes and the producers unanimously decided to award him the role of Dougherty. See more »

Goofs

When asked by Capt. Picard if Data has his emotion chip equipped, Geordi La Forge responds that "He didn't take it with him." Star Trek: Generations had established that Data's emotion chip had been fused into his neural net and could not be removed by any means. Of course, it is quite possible that a way to remove the chip had been discovered between the two movies, but it is never addressed or explained by any means. See more »

If you like Star Trek TNG..See Insurrection
23 September 2004 | by (NYC) – See all my reviews

It's safe to assume a lot of people think that " Star Trek : Insurrection " is more like a 2 hour episode of TNG then a film. But if you like the Star Trek TNG series then you should see Insurrection.

Personally i loved "First Contact" so when i saw "Insurrection" i wasn't expecting it to be better then First Contact. I wasn't expecting anything. Whenever i see a Star Trek movie it IS like seeing another Star Trek episode... I don't compare it to last weeks. I just want to see what the crew has to face this time and if/how they make it out OK. This Film is also filled with comedy which always works for me.
