CAA Signs 'Entourage's Doug Ellin

Exclusive: Entourage creator/executive producer Doug Ellin has signed with CAA, which will also represent his company Fly the Coop Entertainment. He had been at Wme for a long time. Ellin, whose HBO comedy Entourage is wrapping its eight-season run, is under a rich overall deal at the pay cable network. He is now prepping his new HBO pilot, the ensemble comedy 40 starring Ed Burns and Michael Rapaport. Before creating Entourage, Ellin worked in features, most notably writing and directing the 1998 movie Kissing a Fool. »

Doug Ellin: 'Entourage' movie in next 16 months

After eight seasons of palling around L.A. and living like very lovable (if sometimes misogynistic) kings, Adrian Grenier and the cast of "Entourage" will kick off the show's final season on Sunday (July 24). But Tuesday (July 19) night in New York, the cast gathered for one last season premiere bash.

Zap2it was there to capture the scene and talk to some of the show's stars.

"[Vincent Chase] has a lot of proving to do," show star Adrian Grenier tells Zap2it of the upcoming season. "He has to show everyone that's he able to overcome and come out on top. It's going to be an extremely touching, nostalgic season. We're like a family off set and that's really going to come through this season."

Series creator Doug Ellin was also on hand and feeling the nostalgia. After eight seasons, he's still kind of surprised that the show found such a big following. »

I’m not sure how many shopping days till Christmas, but there are only nine days remaining before American Idol‘s season 10 champ inherits Lee DeWyze’s sash and crown. In the interim, though, we’ve got Top 3 Week, during which Haley Reinhart, Lauren Alaina, and Scotty McCreery will tackle a trio of songs: one selected by the judges, one selected by in-house mentor Jimmy Iovine, and one individual choice.
