Taye Diggs Will Be the Next Hedwig, Takes Over for Darren Criss

Move over, Darren Criss! Broadway already has casted its next Hedwig for Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and it's Taye Diggs! Idina Menzel's ex-husband will take over for the Glee alum starting July 22, according to the New York Times. "Taye is fantastic—he has theater cred, he has pop culture cred, he can sing, he can act, he can dance, he's smart and he's sexy," said lead producer David Binder to the Nyt. "That's why we cast him." This wouldn't be Diggs' first appearance on Broadway, as he also appeared in the original cast of Rent.
