There is a scene where we hear sex noises from outside of a house (not graphic and nothing is shown.)

A male prisoner's bare buttocks are briefly shown when the guards have to change his clothes for him, as he is heavily sedated.

7/10

A horribly botched execution by electric chair, lasting for a couple of minutes. We hear the victim yelling in pain for some time and his head is on fire momentarily before he dies. Not shown for the most part but quite disturbing.

Two more executions, each lasting roughly 20 seconds. One of them is more emotional than violent.

A man cradles the dead bodies of two girls; their hair is matted with blood. The father bloodlessly punches him across the face a few times in despair before he is pulled back up

Guards blast an antagonist with water from a fire hose.

A few punches and a slap or two from angry guards towards an antagonist.

One of the guards, is possessed by a sickness, because of this, he shoots and kills one of the prisoners with bloody results. A few scenes later The same prisoner is seen lying in a pool of his own blood, and the bloody impact wounds in his stomach.

9 uses of 'f*ck', 6 of 'shit' and 'son of a bitch', 3 of 'd*ck', 1 use of 'n**ger', 2 of 'faggot'. Also 12 uses of 'goddamn

One or two brief instances of smoking. Paul and Hal have what may be beer while grilling some food.

The guards grind up some sort of medication/pills that they put in Wild Bill's beverage to knock him out.

VERY emotional.

The execution of John Coffey is extremely upsetting, even though it isn't violent. Since he plays such a huge part in the plot of the film and the guards' lives, it's very hard on them and you can see it in the guards' faces. The second execution scene is extremely sad and disturbing, hard to watch, and not for the faint hearted

The rape and murder of two little girls play a role in the plot.

More compassionate than The Shawshank Redemption in some ways.

A 12 year old could handle this movie if they are supervised, viewers under 16 need to be supervised when watching this movie.
