'The Bachelor': Blondes vs Brunettes football. In formal wear.

15 December 2009 9:16 AM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Check out this video of the first-night football game on "The Bachelor" -- it's Blondes vs Brunettes. Who ya got?

These bachelorettes are strapping on pads and helmets to win their man. They're rushing the Quarterback of Love. They're looking to be in Jake Pavelka's huddle

The football game in formal wear is bad enough, but when the women start to chase bachelor Jake Pavelka at the end? Didn't Chris O'Donnell do a scary scene about that very thing in the rom-com "The Bachelor?" Yikes.

Yeah, that game looked totally spontaneous. We also love Jake's "the seatbelt sign is on" line. What does that even mean? Is he contractually obligated to say things that like all season? We better design a drinking game around it before the recapping starts.

Crippled by a torn meniscus, Nancy O'Dell watched the Dancing with the Stars premiere from the sidelines instead of waltzing up a storm on the floor with Tony Dovolani. "That was tough because I so wanted to be a part of it," she tells TVGuide.com. O'Dell was replaced by The Bachelor's No. 2 gal, Melissa Rycroft, who netted a score of 23 with 48 hours of rehearsal. It was the worst-kept TV secret this side of George Clooney's return to ER, but that didn't stop Dancing with the Stars from waiting nearly an hour into Monday's Season 8 premiere before announcing Girls Next Door's Holly Madison and The Bachelor's jilted Melissa Rycroft as the 11th-hour replacements for Jewel and Nancy O'Dell, respectively.

Taken, Paul Blart Best Renee Zellweger, Oscar Films

1 February 2009 11:16 AM, PST | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

It was a bad weekend to be an A-list actress or a Best Picture nominee. It was a good weekend—for the third weekend running—to be Paul Blart. Kevin James' surprising Paul Blart: Mall Cop slipped to No. 2 in the box-office standings, but picked up another $14 million, its studio estimated, and raised its haul to $83.4 million. Overall, the new Liam Neeson thriller Taken led all films with $24.6 million.  As for one Renee Zellweger, and those five Oscar hopefuls…? Zellweger's New in Town ($6.8 million) opened weaker than last spring's Leatherheads. In fact, it opened weaker than any Zellweger comedy since The Bachelor, which really was more a now-rare species known as a Chris »
