The Week Of Trailer #2 Gets Rock and Sandler Ready for a Wedding

The Week Of Trailer #2 Gets Rock and Sandler Ready for a Wedding
The Week Of tells the story of a devoted, middle class father (Adam Sandler) determined to pay for his daughter's wedding despite the prodding of the wealthier father of the groom (Chris Rock). A series of calamities forces the dads (and their families) to come together and endure the longest week of their lives.

The Week Of is the fourth movie in Adam Sandler's first contract with Netflix. A deal that worked out brilliantly for both parties involved. It has allowed Adam Sandler to tell some stories he never could on the big screen, and it has brought Netflix some of its biggest ratings for any of its original movies, only recently bested by the Christmas release Bright. Sandler and Netflix have enjoyed this project so much, they have signed a second deal which will kick into effect sometime next year with a whole new set of movies.

Jennifer Lawrence Geeks Out Over ‘The Waterboy’ With Adam Sandler

Jennifer Lawrence Geeks Out Over ‘The Waterboy’ With Adam Sandler
Despite being an Oscar-winning actress, Jennifer Lawrence is a fangirl, first and foremost.

“‘The Waterboy’ I would watch every day when I came home from school,” Lawrence told Adam Sandler, who co-wrote and starred in the film, on Variety‘s “Actors on Actors.”

However when Lawrence asked Sandler what line from the film was most often quoted back to him, he seemed stumped. Sandler struggled for a moment then said he was trying to recall a specific line that had been quoted to him by rapper Dr. Dre 20 years ago.

“Wow, that’s a moment,” Lawrence said excitedly. “That’s like when Woody Harrelson told me to ‘slow down, Jen, this isn’t Jamaica’ when I was 21 or 22. I was like, ‘Oh my god, I just out-smoked Woody Harrelson.’ It was such a big moment.”

Lawrence then revealed that her favorite part of “The Waterboy” was “when your mom was telling a story at the dinner table in

Giving Movie Thanks (2017 Edition)

I’d imagine every one of us, despite our individual life situations, however privileged or difficult they may be, wouldn’t have too much trouble coming up with a pretty long list of people and circumstances for which to be grateful, during the upcoming week traditionally reserved for the expression of thanks as well as throughout the entirety of the year.

Even in our brave new world, where gratitude and humility and generosity of spirit often seem to be in short supply, at the mercy of greed, abuse of power, disregard for the rule of law, and megalomaniac self-interest cynically masquerading as an aggressive strain of nationalist, populist passion, there are good, everyday reasons to look around and take stock of blessings in one’s immediate surroundings.

And speaking specifically as one who has the privilege and opportunity to occasionally write about matters concerning the movies, and even a (very

Adam Sandler Films On Netflix Get Half A Billion Hours Of Views

"They gave me money to make this. Can you believe it?"

Adam Sandler. When someone utters that name these days, I tend to shudder. When once he had halfway decent films like Billy Madison and The Wedding Singer, he's now making movies especially for Netflix. It seems like a major step down for someone that used to be the king of the box office.

Yet Netflix loves the guy. According to Netflix (via Screen Rant), Adam Sandler vehicles are accounting for over half a billion hours of views on the streaming service. There are no money figures to speak of but Netflix has been happy enough with the results that they have recently given him another four picture deal.

Makin' it rain!

One part of my brain wants to be angry at this thought. The quality of Adam Sandler films has sunk so low, it's getting near the Earth's core at this point.

CinemaCon 2017: ‘Dunkirk,’ ‘The Beguiled,’ ‘Baby Driver,’ and the New Woody Allen Get Sneak Peeks
Back in the day, when CinemaCon still was known as ShoWest, Adam Sandler was the conference’s standard bearer for A-list celebrity. In 1999, he won Comedy Star of the Year (for “The Waterboy”); in 2003, he received the conference’s Male Star of the Year (for “Punch-Drunk Love”). His popularity persisted once the conference was rebranded: In 2013, he took the stage on a chariot to promote “Grown Ups 2,” and won the Star award again in 2014 (“Blended”). Don’t expect to see him this year; he’s just signed his second four-picture deal with Netflix. However, the show that once helped define his career goes on.

CinemaCon hosts about 5,000 Nato exhibitors, studio chiefs and marketing staff, independent producers and distributors, concessionaires, agents, and press. When they’re not engaged in the battle over who owns the moviegoing audience, they expect the rituals to remain the same: Major studios present show reels,

Adam Sandler’s The Ridiculous 6 Gets A Trailer

  • TheMovieBit
The first in a four picture deal between Adam Sandler and Netflix, you have probably heard about The Ridiculous 6 because of the fierce controversy surrounding it and the fact that a number of Native American performers walking off set due to racially sensitive material. Despite that bit of bad press, the first trailer for the comedy western about a gang of outlaw half-brothers is here,’s an Adam Sandler movie, we know what to expect by now. While it elicited nary a chuckle from me, I have to hand it to Sandler and and his go to director Frank Coraci (Click, The Waterboy, The Wedding Singer) for assembling a pretty decent cast. Sure, the Sandler regulars are there (Terry Crews, Rob Schneider, Jon Lovitz, Steve Buscemi etc.), but it also has Harvey Kietel, Steve Zahn, Danny Trejo, Nick Nolte, Luke Wilson, and John Tuturro in the mix too.

Sandler to Have Biggest Opening Weekend of His Career with 'Hotel Transylvania 2'? Think Again.

'Hotel Transylvania 2.' 'Hotel Transylvania 2' far surpasses expectations at domestic box office: Adam Sandler a hit when heard but not seen Adam Sandler has been having his share of domestic box office flops lately. Chris Columbus' Pixels, which opened in late July to scathing reviews and indifferent audiences, was the latest one: a reported $88 million production (plus marketing and distribution expenses) that earned $76.67 million in the U.S. and Canada (plus an estimated $145.1 million elsewhere). But now comes the Sony Pictures release Hotel Transylvania 2, the concisely titled sequel to the late Sept. 2012 hit Hotel Transylvania. Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, the $80-85 million-budgeted animated feature should open around $48 million from 3,754 theaters according to early weekend box office estimates found at The report adds that some “rival studio box office analysts” believe Hotel Transylvania 2 may actually pass the $50 million mark. On Friday, Sept. 25, '15, it collected a better than expected (estimated) $13.5 million.

Adam Sandler: 5 Reasons He’s No Longer a Movie Star

Adam Sandler: 5 Reasons He’s No Longer a Movie Star
Is it game over for Adam Sandler? His new comedy, “Pixels,” opened over the weekend to a mediocre $24 million, a disappointing result for the $88 million project. Sandler’s latest box office lemon comes on the heels of “The Cobbler” (Sandler’s lowest-grossing title ever, which opened to just $24,000 from 20 theaters in March), 2014’s “Blended” (the Drew Barrymore reteaming that mustered $46 million), “That’s My Boy” (a pairing with Andy Samberg that eked out $37 million) and “Jack and Jill” (the cross-dressing comedy that landed some of the worst reviews of his career). His only recent hits have been the 2013 sequel to “Grown Ups” (which netted $133 million) and “Hotel Transylvania,” an animated film that didn’t require him to be onscreen.

Here’s how Sandler’s box office career went from $4 billion in ticket sales to ice cold.

1. He aged out of his material

Adam Sandler’s Top 10 Movie Quotes Before ‘Pixels’ – Read It ‘T-t-t-Today, Junior!’
Adam Sandler’s “Pixels” invades theaters this weekend and the summer movie event has prompted TheWrap to look back at the comic actor’s journey from “The Cosby Show” and MTV’s “Remote Control” to “Saturday Night Live,” after which he quickly became one of Hollywood’s biggest movie stars. All due respect to the “high-quality H20” of “The Waterboy” and the Donald R. DeCicco scene from “Coneheads,” but neither made this list, which is a testament to Sandler’s incredibly quotable career. Clearly I’m partial to some of Sandler’s early work on the big screen, which continues

Adam Sandler on Ridiculous Six controversy: "a misunderstanding"

Ahead of the release of his new film, Pixels, Adam Sandler has sprung to the defence of his upcoming western, The Ridiculous Six...

Earlier this year, Adam Sandler's first film for Netflix - comedy western The Ridiculous Six - found itself in the headlines when Native American actors walked off the film. The film was accused of being "totally disrespectful" of Apache culture, with one actor, Loren Anthony, telling AP that "right from the get-go, it didn't feel right. But we let it go". However, Anthony added that "once we found out more about the script, we felt it was totally disrespectful to elders and Native women".

Reportedly, character names in the movie include Beaver's Breath and No Bra. Sandler has co-written the movie, which has been described as a "broad satire of western movies".

Now, nearly three months after the controversy first surfaced, Adam Sandler himself has responded to the criticisms.

Icons of Fright Chats With Vendetta/WWE’s Paul “Big Show” Wight!!

Paul Wight is one intimidating guy. Whether he’s slamming people down left and right as “Big Show” in the WWE, or doing other entertaining projects, the guy is one hell of a juggernaut that you wouldn’t want to cross in a dark alley at night.

Making for one hell of a villain in the now in theaters and VOD film Vendetta (directed by the wonderful Soska Twins, Jen & Sylvia), Paul shows a darker and completely vicious side of himself that holds his own against the film’s protagonist, a cop hellbent on revenge (played by Dean Cain). Wight commands every scene that he’s in and has one hell of an end fight in the film, one that ‘s for the books.

Wight was nice enough to chat with Icons of Fright about Vendetta and how the experience with working with who he likes to call his “angels”, as well as other topics.
