Yikes! Another in the family of natural disaster movies, this one made for tv and quite obviously with a much smaller budget than if it came from a big studio. I must say this was exciting even though I found myself yelling at the screen several times out of sheer frustration at the totally unbelievable turn of events. And thanks to the unbelievableness I had a great big laugh at the end whilst reeling in pain from the idiocy of it all. Okay, I'm no volcanologist, geologist, scientist, physicist, mega-genius and i'm only semi-knowlegable in avalanches but wouldn't lava, one of the hottest things on earth, just plow right throw snow and ice, melting it all and keep on going? Oy. And the ability to outski an avalanche, always keeping just a few yards ahead of it? HA! And just seconds after Ms. Lightning Speed Skier Ski Patroller gets to the bottom, Mr. Volcano Guy, who got buried under tons and tons of avalanche debris higher up on the mountain, just walks out la di da di da like nothing ever happened?!?! Yeah, that's where I lost it and broke out into hysterical laughter and now ten minutes later I'm still in shock from it all. Just a mess. Mediocre effects, some good acting but just as much or more bad, not so great writing, unbelievable and impossible events, John Corbett extremely unconvincing as a volcanologist - I give this a "C-" and that's kinda generous just 'cause I did find it exciting.
