Storyline

When a typhoon cripples their boat, the crew sails into the eye of the storm, where they discover a high-tech Russian communications and research vessel adrift. Only one Russian crew member is still alive, raving about "intelligent lightning." They soon discover that an alien life form has taken over the ship's computers and is churning out mechanical warriors. With their own boat destroyed, the crew must battle the creature as the ship reenters the storm. Written by Anthony Pereyra {hypersonic91@yahoo.com}

Trivia

In an IGN.com interview; Jamie Lee Curtis said the following about Virus: "Rob Reiner for his 40th birthday had a bad show business party where everybody brought show business clips... Rob's was playing a hippie on Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. singing 'Blowin' in the Wind...' Virus is so bad that it's shocking... That would be the all time piece of shit...It's just dreadful... That's the only good reason to be in bad movies. Then when your friends have [bad] movies you can say 'Ahhhh, I've got the best one.' I'm bringing Virus.'" See more »

Goofs

Continuity: When Everton is in E-Deck Workroom 14 and watches a headless torso rise up from the tabletop, a tattoo in the form of the Russian Red Star is visible on the left side of the torso. In the next shot, the tattoo has transferred to the right side. The entire shot has been mirrored for some reason, as the mechanical parts fused to the torso have also switched sides. See more »

Quotes

[to Everton who had just pulled a pistol on him]
Baker: You ever pull a gun on me again...
Captain Everton: You'll what?
