Storyline

A small town truck stop is taken over by driver-less trucks. Possibly caused by a toxic spill in the city. After the trucks cause numerous deaths, the remaining survivors (two teens, their fathers, and another lady citizen) are forced to escape the truck stop. They find it's very difficult to out-smart the trucks. Written by <casbeas@hotmail.com>

It's a Step Up from Maximum Overdrive, I'll Give You That
28 September 2014 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

This remake of Stephen King's disastrous directorial debut; Maximum Overdrive is a tolerable, Canadian made TV movie from director Chris Thomson who may be best known for episodes of the Flipper show. One day the trucks come to like in a small American town and everything from Tonka toys to eighteen wheelers go on a killing spree. Brian Taggert adapted the short story on which this film is based. And he does what he can with the material. It's the story of his life having written stuff like Whatever Happened to Baby Jane and Omen IV: The Awakening television screenplays. But in the end, limitations inherent in the source material keep this from being anything more than a sub par entertainment.
