So I'm barely watching this thing with a plot hole comes out and hits me square in the head. (and woke me up)
Prop plane is sabotaged and goes down in the high snow. A hunter / poacher is waiting with a scoped hunting rifle and sneaks up on them. The family tricks this dim wit and actually kills him with ski poll to the heart.
Storms a coming and an evil couple is moving in to finish the job. So what would you do? The families son tries to go out to find the poachers snowmobile. Oh but the father with the bad leg decided to stop this bright kid from ending the movie quickly. Dad falls down and the kid (probably inches from the snowmobile) turns back and helps dad back to the crashed plane.
Morning... What to do? What would YOU do?
Now I would send the wife and the smart kid off to make tracks away from the plane in the snow. Then have them step backwards all the way back to a hiding place. Dad would be sitting from a good position with the scoped hunting rifle and kill those two bad guys.
Oh not these movie characters. They decide to make a run for a place that EVERYBODY knows exists. The bad guys with the snowmobiles know where the family is heading and... Well that is where I stopped to write this.
This seems like a good production.. Good acting and real airplanes. (vs. stock footage) What went wrong? How hard would it be for the writer to spend a couple of days researching situations like that? (not the stupid sub plot but the adventure / escape parts.)
Such a waste..
