New Orleans — For more than two decades, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival has closed with a performance by the city's own Neville Brothers.
On Sunday, that tradition changed. Aaron Neville performed on a stage with his new band while young brass band frontman Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews closed the festival's biggest stage – where the Neville Brothers once held court the last day.
Andrews and his band, Orleans Avenue, entertained a jam-packed crowd as the festival ended its 2013 run. A sea of faces stretched to the track's back fence.
Neville said he views the closing lineup change as kind of a "passing of the guard.
"Trombone Slim, as I call him, will do a great job," Neville said of Andrews. "I remember when it was Professor Longhair out there and then we did it for a long time. It's time. Slim is a big musician and I'm proud of the way he's handled himself. »

The Remaining was a blip on our radar not long ago when you brought you a slice of casting news. That film is officially complete and some stills have been sent our way.
Alexa Vega leads the cast alongside Shaun Sipos, Italia Ricci, Johnny Pacar, Bryan Dechart and Liz E. Morgan star in the film directed by Casey La Scala.
The film concerns a group of close-knit friends that come together to celebrate the marriage of Skylar (Vega) and Dan (Dechart). The group is enjoying the festivities when tragedy strikes. The wedding party is besieged by a series of catastrophic events which turns the celebration into a life-and-death struggle. The young group is desperately scrambling for refuge and self-preservation while an enemy they never knew existed unleashes its wrath against those remaining alive. Affirm Films, a division of Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (Spwa), and Cinematic wrapped principal photography of The Remaining on March 18th in Wilmington, Nc.
The horror thriller, based on biblical accounts of the end times, is written and directed by Casey La Scala (Donnie Darko). The film stars Alexa Vega (Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D), Shaun Sipos (Texas Chainsaw 3D), Johnny Pacar (Flight 29 Down), Italia Ricci (“Terminales”), Bryan Dechart (Step Up 3D) and newcomer Liz E. Morgan. The Remaining is produced by Brad Luff (Urban Legends), Marc Bienstock (Quarantine 2: Terminal) and La Scala.

Universal Pictures The Best Man has a sequel coming with the cast of Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Morris Chestnut, Harold Perrineau, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Regina Hall, Monica Calhoun and Melissa De Sousa all ready to return, reports Variety. Malcolm D. Lee, who directed the 1999 film, is also back at the wheel, directing from his own script. There are no details on the plot yet however for the film produced by The Sean Daniel Company's Sean Daniel and Lee. returning to write and direct the film. The film finds theaters November 15th this year. Here's the official synopsis for The Best Man: Harper Stewart (Taye Diggs) is a commitment-shy writer and the best man at the wedding of Lance (Morris Chestnut) and Mia (Monica Calhoun).
