- Continuity: In the final scene, Max Minot's swim trunks alternate between tan and dark green.
- Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the last scene the pinky on Bartolucci's right hand is back. It was kept on ice throughout the movie and given back to him at the end, then sewn back on.
- Errors in geography: Ira brings brownie mix from Ralphs, a California chain of supermarkets; the movie is set in New York.
- Continuity: After the power goes out the first time the microwave clock is still going.
- Continuity: When the boys are about to get hit by the truck, the view through the window behind them shows the car is moving when it car is supposed to be still.
- Continuity: When the security cop shows up, Avery has to tell Ira to take his coat off before he answers the door, but in previous shots of Ira he is seen vacuuming the hallway without his coat on.
- Continuity: When Heckle and Jekyll get the phone call telling them that the ransom money is ready, Jekyll's apron disappears and reappears between shots.
- Boom mic visible: Reflected in the mirror when the gang are debating how Charlie should go to the bathroom.
- Revealing mistakes: Several times in the first scene (in the restaurant) Max Minot refers to Jay Mohr's character (Brett) as "Jay".
- Anachronisms: The guys all refer to Charlie as "Carlo Bartolucci" until he tells them that he now goes by the name "Charlie Barret." During the 1970s "Nick The Nose" flashback scene, however, Nick refers to him as "Charlie" instead of "Carlo." As the events in the flashback sequence had taken place some 20 years before, Nick would have referred to him as "Carlo" since Charlie's name change had not yet taken place.
- Continuity: Near the end Brett is pointing the gun at Avery, when he walks away Brett puts the gun on the table in front of him and sits on the couch, in the next shot up close Brett has the gun in his hand again.
- Factual errors: In the casino scene, one of the characters talks about going over to the sports book. There is no sports betting in New Jersey casinos.

- Revealing mistakes: SPOILER, near the end of the film, after Jeckyl and Heckel are shot and killed, there is a close shot of Heckel, and although he is supposed to be dead, it is noticeable that he is breathing.
- Continuity: SPOILER: During Charlie’s abduction scene in the tunnel, the Mercedes has a correct New York license plate. After the impact with the guard rail and near miss with the truck the front plate has changed to a yellow on blue California plate.
