Storyline

All Barry Singer wants, "is a woman to like him for who he pretends to be," ...or so he says in his act. A stand up comedian toiling in the netherworld of the L.A. comedy scene, Barry's universe is turned upside down when he meets Thea Douglas, a young political activist who is clearly in the "spiritual quest mode." Together, they throw into a comic dance of high intimacy where for the first time in their lives the physical and emotional come together. When their relationship hits the rocks, Thea is swept into the whirlpool of the '92 political season and hits the road with the Jerry Brown presidential campaign. All this leads Barry to one certainty; he has no choice but to take off cross country in pursuit of his "souler opposite." Written by Anonymous

User Reviews

witty and enjoyable
10 April 2001 | by (GUAM) – See all my reviews

I just happened to catch this movie on The Movie Channel and was immediately hooked. I found the dialogue witty and humorous, especially the exchanges between Christopher Meloni and Janel Moloney's characters (Barry and Thea). I was equally impressed with the sense of uneasiness and emotional frailty that Barry exhibited when introduced to Thea's family during Christmas. The development of Barry's character as a "stalker" was a little too contrived and obvious but all in all, the film was enjoyable. I would definitely buy it for my collection.
