To get the PG rating in the UK, 42 seconds were cut to remove a scene. In this scene, Young Fred Z. Randall (Brandon Kaplan), enthralled by all things astronaut and space, climbs into his home washing machine and goes for a 'spin' inside it, all the while pretending that he's in a space capsule or astronaut trainer, preparing himself for the rigors of space such as motion sickness, so that he may one day be better prepared to apply for his dream job... to be a true NASA astronaut! (PS: Don't try this 'training' method at home.) See more »
When Fred Randall and Gordon Peacock are in the isolation chambers, Fred's singing and talking can be heard in Gordon's chamber and there is light in the chambers. Isolation chambers have no windows or light and are insulated so no sound is audible. See more »
I pride myself in having good taste in movies. Among my favorites are Raging Bull, On The Waterfront, The English Patient, etc. Normally I hate movies like this. Austin Powers 2 was so bad I wanted to leave. But this movie just makes me laugh.....hard. Sure it has your stereotypical Disney stuff that gets laughs from the little ones, but there are so many clever lines for adults that it really surprised me the first time I saw it. Harland Williams was perfectly cast, I don't think anyone else would have been good as Fred Z. Randall. If you are in for a stupid movie that will make you laugh see RocketMan.
