Storyline

The King of Rock-n-Roll lives! On his way across New Mexico, Byron Gruman picks up a hitch-hiking impersonator who says he's Elvis Presley really. Skeptical and trying to shake the memory of his wife's death, Byron just wants to drop Elvis off at his Memphis destination. Instead, he finds himself won over by this King, much like everyone they meet including a sexy Marilyn Monroe look-alike. Featuring a scene that was shot inside the Graceland Mansion thanks to Priscilla Presley's involvement as executive producer. With Harvey Keitel, Bridget Fonda, Johnathon Schaech. Quotes

Byron Gruman: God, if I'd been driving, she's...
Elvis: She might be alive? Or you might be dead. Maybe both of you would have perished.
Byron Gruman: How could something so perfect be taken away from me?
Elvis: I've searched a lifetime for an answer to that question. All I know is, you have to forgive yourself, your woman, god... and have faith that the next love you'll have won't cause you so much pain.

the movie has two levels
11 April 2004 | by (washington dc) – See all my reviews

This film is based on creative ideas. The acting is fresh. Overall the movie has two levels, one the uplifting plot of a human soul celebrating his love for mankind and spreading it through example; two an edgy undertone suggests that the whole thing may blow up into a dark side shocker for reasons that are never quite revealed. Maybe it's just that amazing Harvey K. It is a brilliant film in concept and execution. Rare.
