I guess being politically correct does not allow for people to actually enjoy films like this. In political correctness, a tragedy is treated as a tragedy and everyone must take to heart how awful it is and NEVER EVER make light of it. I, myself, could care less about political correctness and laughed my head off at this movie. For it's about that phenomenon known as "going postal" which means that some postal worker cracks under pressure and takes out umpteen co-workers and innocent by-standers. When it happens for real, it's probably not very funny, but treated as a satire and a black comedy it's funny as hell. Brad Garrett plays Oren, a decidedly odd character that pretty much anyone would instinctively be afraid of, and his behavior is rather bizarre, to say the least, and he's also stalking a pretty young co-worker. Who, while she is cute and sweet, may not be so innocent herself, having survived other "postal tragedies" but who may also be somewhat of an instigator. There's a doctor come to this particular postal station to study the personnel and make determinations about their tendencies - in other words he's pretty well profiled them and ranked them in order of "most likely to explode" on down... And then there's a kind of hapless goof (Rob Roy Fitzgerald)who is made a supervisor and then a scapegoat in a matter of days when there's almost a tragedy with a worker stuck on a conveyor belt, and he's also been rather friendly with this pretty young thing that Oren has been stalking. And then when he's fired, well, things wort of spiral out of control from there. Oren, of course, has already been terminated and has had some time to stew before making his move. And then violence ensues, big time. I really wasn't expecting much from this but was quite pleased that it was as good as it was. Plenty of laughs, etc., a well done satire, unless, of course, you're unable to laugh at things like this. 8 out of 10. And it's on DVD, despite what IMDb indicates.
