The word "privileged" is misspelled as "priviledged" on Gavrich's suitcase as it is moving up the conveyor belt onto his plane.

When Dr. Kelly is trying to determine what the reference 44-E refers to and looks at a map, she follows the 44 degree latitude. The reference would refer to the 44 longitude. Latitudes are designated as north or south, longitudes are designated as east and west.

When talking to Kodoroff over the radio-phone, DeVoe reminds Kodoroff of the TV feeds from the "GBU missiles" during Desert Storm. GBU weapons are guided free-fall bombs, not missiles, as GBU stands for "guided bomb unit". A decorated Special Forces officer would know the difference.

During the Congressional hearing, Devoe is wearing the rank of Major. During the next scene, he is wearing Lieutenant Colonel's oak leaves. Was he promoted between scenes?
When Dr. Kelly and Lt. Col Devoe first get to Vienna, she is clearly wearing taupe colored pumps. As they are walking out of the square with Dimitri, she is wearing black knee-high boots.

When Dusan has left the taxi and is walking on the streets carrying the backpack, the girl with the pink t-shirt appears three times during Dusan's walk: twice walking towards Dusan, and once in the same direction he's walking, just a few steps in front of him and to the left of him (in the right part of the screen). As he is walking faster than her, she appears just briefly amidst the crowd.

When the scene cuts back to the BMW crashed in the café, while the back tires are spinning, a car jack can be clearly seen under the car, raising the car just enough off the ground so the tires barely touch the pavement.

Errors in geography

The script pretends that Soviet Union has never collapsed in 1991, although we can see the former-soviet republics shown in the map at the American Base in Turkey. Russia has no borders with Iran that Kodoroff can pass over to, carrying nuclear warheads with him. The three American choppers cannot directly pass the non-existing Turkish-Russian border to Russia.

When the three American helicoptors are going in to destroy the truck, but are threatened by Russian groud-air missles, they say "we repeat". Repeat in military terms means "Repeat Fire" or "Fire Again". The correct term should have been "We say again".

the helicopter used to yank the cluster of missiles from the truck as it falls off the bridge, the HH-65, doesn't have the load capacity to sling-load that much weight. It would have gone down as fast as the truck.

Near the end of the Town Square scene in Vienna, Col. Devoe spins the rear wheels of the Mercedes, one of which has a flat tire and is backed up to a curb, which causes sparks to land on some spilled fuel. This wouldn't happen because the Mercedes had aluminum wheels and aluminum doesn't make sparks. Not to mention that, if Dimitri Vertikoff was making his Mercedes into a rolling tank with bullet-proof glass and the other features he mentioned, he would've had run-flat tires installed.

When the missile is fired at the truck, utility poles go down one by one as if each was striking the next when it fell, but they aren't, nor are the wires pulling on them; and if the blast knocked them over directly, then they would all fall at once.

The fax number that Col. Devoe gives to his Russian General friend is missing two digits. North American phone numbers have a three-digit area code followed by seven digits. Devoe says 001, which is arguably the international code to call the USA from Russia, then three digits (the area code), and then only five more digits.

In the train hijacking, the soldiers who murder the passengers are all wearing night-vision devices but their "eyes" appear red as if they are zombies. Stealth in the dark is the whole purpose of infantry night-vision devices, and they are essentially invisible from the front, whether infrared or light-gathering.

LTC DeVoe has both Ranger and Special Forces tabs on his uniforms. At the air base in Turkey he appears to be wearing a black beret, which was the Ranger beret color at the time of the movie. However, his unit crest on the beret is not that of the 75th Ranger Regiment nor of any other special operations command unit. It comes closest in appearance, with the upper yellow half separated diagonally, to the 8th Special Forces Group (Green Berets), a unit deactivated in 1972.

After the truck with the weapons has been spotted, by satellite, one of the staff members is asked how long it will be until the satellite is out of range, and he replies; "1 hour 46 minutes". For a satellite in low Earth orbit, this is how long it would take for it to make a complete orbit of the Earth. In fact it would be out of range within 10 minutes.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

In his tape, Gavrich says, "I am a Serb. I am a Croat. I am a Muslim." This is his way of saying, "I am Everyman," not a specific declaration of his religion, so crossing himself is not inconsistent.

Why is the incorrect latitude "44E" even on the shipping records? Even if the terrorists were the ones who rented the truck, what possible purpose would placing this incriminating clue on the rental serve, especially as the truck was going to Iran, not New York?

A nuclear warhead goes off in Russia killing almost 2000 people, and a Bosnian politician is assassinated the same day. With the theft of the other nuclear warheads as well, it seems highly unlikely that the United Nations would still be going forward with treaty signing after such international incidents had occurred.

In the church when attempting to disarm the bomb a button on the control panel with the 'II' symbol is visible. The 'II' symbol is the universal symbol for a 'Pause' button so why didn't then simply hit the pause button to stop the timer and prevent the bomb from going off.

The Colonel kills the wayward lieutenant in the tunnel by firing a pistol first into his abdomen and then with a coup de grace, apparently to the head. However, despite the fact that a gunshot averages 150-180 decibels, no one flinches despite what would have been a massive roar amplified by the echoes from the tunnel.

Factual errors

At the end, when Devoe shows up at poolside, there are several things wrong with his Class A uniform. There are no Distinguishing Unit Insignia on his epaulets (these would be the dagger and arrow Special Forces crest, as he wears above his top right pocket as his regimental crest). He is wearing standard "low-quarter" shoes; as he is assigned to a Special Forces unit, he should be wearing jump boots with his trousers bloused over them, as all Special Forces units are designated Airborne units. There is no unit patch on his left sleeve, only his Special Forces and Ranger tabs; as he is wearing an SF crest on his uniform, he should be wearing the Special Forces Command patch with the Airborne tab. And finally, he is seen holding a service cap, whereas his headgear should be a green beret.
