No Child Of Mine

Said to be based on a real girl, Kerry is sexually abused by a paedophile ring which includes her own mother, raped by her stepfather, pimped out by her biological father, pimped by a regular pimp, and finally raped by a care worker. Harrowing stuff, but fortunately this is not a true story at all; the day after it was screened, an article in the London "Times" made that clear.

Having said that, there are monsters out there: Fred and Rose West to begin with, while others will exploit the young out of sexual depravity, for financial gain, or both, but although this sort of hyperbole may be good for raising funds for the NSPCC and perverting the rule of law, it does nothing to tackle the very real problem of child sexual abuse.
