Storyline

Based on the popular novel for young adults by Frank Sacks, this heart-warming drama concerns Billy Hastings, an 11-year-old boy whose life is shattered after his leg is permanently damaged by a drunk driver. Billy and his mother Julie move to a new town in hopes of escaping the bad memories of the accident. Not long after they arrive, they visit a threadbare circus, where they discover a neglected horse. Feeling sorry for the animal, they arrange to take it home, only to discover that the horse is pregnant. That's the least of their surprises, though; the horse shortly gives birth to a unicorn, which appears to have magical powers. Written by Mark Deming

A pony gives birth to a Unicorn
21 December 2004 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This movie teaches us a little bit about love, life, AND EACH OTHER. The kid in the movie is supposed to be crippled, except he can walk and run fine. He has a cheesy limp which is barely noticeable, but for some reason all the kids at school pick on him. The best is when he hits a home run while playing baseball and trips on second base because of his gimp leg. Idiot.

The best part of this movie is the fact that a PONY gives birth to a full-size UNICORN. Like, the only thing more imaginary than a Unicorn is a pony giving birth to anything, because it is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE. It would be like a 3 year old girl giving birth to a Centuar.

The cool thing about this movie was the magical things I learned about Unicorns. I thought unicorns were just rad to look at - I didn't know they had useless powers! These powers include: (1) Flowers grow wherever unicorns walk (2) Their horn grows 4 inches every day at some random point, usually marked by a wind chime noise and glittery graphics (3) Thats it
