The Big Wig Elite in Hollywood need to come out to Nevada. There they should make their small town masterpieces.
This movie would have been better Titled "100 miles North of Barstow."
Situations and the basic story of this movie seem a better fit in Out-Back California. The woman being men.. All men being 1 dimensional. A clear "women know best movie" "oh your not a woman with children so you wouldn't understand crap." Yawn.
The movie makes a point but it is a stupid one.
Women have always been the backbone of this country. The ones that live in outback rural areas like Sandy Valley.. Searchlight.. Amargosa Valley (Lathrup Wells) Alamo.. Rachel.. {All places I have been} Are Real women not a bunch of wigged out feminists. They are practical people that deserve a much better movie than this trash.
How about a writer/director to out and make an honest movie... Not one with the cardboard cut out message this one brings to the table. A movie that could reflect the dynamic lifestyle of these unrepresented women.
Once out here you will see the spark that opened up the west in the 1800's. The strong hard women that make Rural Nevada such a great and interesting place. People distinctly different than the ones you find in rural AZ, UT, etc.
Oh and..
Lived here all my life and never saw the dam shot from such a location. They must have went down a dam service road to get that contrived metaphorical shot. For me that shot sums up the movie perfectly. Stupid and Fake.
Fresh milk service in a tiny town? Is it symbolism? Or a Metaphor? I forget and get all mixed up when I watch crap like this.
For the womyn who simply love this pandering junk.. So by reading some of your comments I guess they hit the nail on the head. It makes zero sense to me. Or any other rational thinking human.
Women that watch this film and "get it" really deserve better. If you are brave enough to see past the pandering and reinforcing false concepts and stereotypes... put down your feminist books and start reading pioneer history. Dare to change your beliefs rather than reinforce them.
