Did You Know?

The trailer and many photo galleries show a scene of Jean Valjean falling on his knees and tearing up his yellow passport, but this does not appear in the final film.

A key character from the original novel is only featured briefly. Despite the limited screen time for the character of Eponine in this film version, she has a major role in both the book and the stage musical, as part of a love triangle that also includes Marius and Cosette. (Whether this is truly a love triangle is somewhat debatable, as Cosette and Marius are thoroughly in love. Eponine is only seen as a little sister type by Marius, who she loves deeply and - as she admits in song in the musical - "On My Own".)
