When one burglar rolls down into the basement and falls from the mousetrap on his finger, he shoots a toilet pipe, and there is a very loud gunshot, yet there is a silencer on his gun, if there were a silencer the gunshot would not have been that loud.
When the bad guys are chasing the toy car and it goes under the SUV Jernigan's driving, he says "It's heading south on Adams". The toy car then goes left, which would mean it should be going east. But Jernigan then says it's heading west.
The laundry basket knocked over by Peter Beaupre falls off a counter and lands upside-down on top of laundry. The basket comes to a complete stop. In the next scene, the laundry basket is no longer upside-down nor is it positioned upon the clothing.
When Alex is caught trying to rescue Mrs. Hess, Mr. Beaupre tore the remote control car apart and destroyed it while looking for the chip. After he flees and hides in the snow fort, the parrot drives the car to him and it is undamaged.
When Alex checks on the video camera to see whether he's caught the bad guys, he lifts the viewfinder to press the button that opens the case. In the close-up of the empty drive, the viewfinder is down. In the next shot, it is back up.
When Alex is controlling his remote control car through his neighbor's house to catch Mr. Beaupre on tape, he is sitting on a wooden chest watching the video feedback on a TV. Beside him is an open book. When Mr. Beaupre jumps in front of the camera which consequently causes Alex to fall back, the book that was beside him is gone.
When Alex's dad is getting ready to go for his business trip Alex says that dad's beeper number is on 2nd, mom's on 1st button, but when Alex calls to the police for the first time and speed dial number are shown, mom's beeper number is on 4 and 1 is dad's work.
When Alex is playing around with Mrs Hess's TV, Alex is pointing the remote at the TV through an open curtained window. But when Mrs Hess steps into the room to look at the TV you can see the curtains are clearly closed.
When the bad guys are supposed to be in a San Francisco airport, the scene was obviously filmed in Chicago's O'Hare airport. They then catch a flight to Chicago, and emerge at a different part of O'Hare.
At the beginning of the movie, the terrorists lose the toy car containing the computer chip while it is placed in a Parisian Department Store bag, despite the fact that Parisian department stores were located exclusively in the southeastern United States while the airport scenes were set in San Francisco.
During the remote control car chase the bad guys' minivan drives directly over it at one point. From the view of the toy car, you can see a driveshaft running down the centre of the undercarriage, which would be impossible on a front-wheel-drive vehicle like the Nissan Quest they're driving, which use half axles to drive the front wheels.
When the police arrive for the first time, they kick down a door that instantly triggers the burglar alarm. This setting can only be used if someone is home while the system is armed, otherwise it must go through a "countdown" to allow the owner to disarm the system.
