Kevin Conroy works at the set of mega-budget picture called "Moby Dick 2: Ahab's Revenge". He is humiliated by tyrannical producer Michael Lawrence and his manager Russell. He also befriends his roommate Ted. When Kevin gets tired of it all, Ted conceives a plan - Kevin will steal the footage of the most expensive scene ever shot (Moby Dick attacks Honolulu) and demand $150,000 - the cost to film Kevin's art-house script. Original title for the film was "P.A. In L.A." but the director changed it because he felt not everyone would understand what a "P.A." (a Production Assistant) was and might pronounce the title "PAHH In LAHH." See more »
"Hijacking Hollywood", a one-man-band indie, tells of a naive wannabee director (Thomas) who goes to Hollywood to break into show biz and takes a job as a gofor. He rooms with a more savvy Hollywoodite (Mandt) and together they hatch a scheme to hijack some film stock and hold it for ransom to get a stake for a movie they would like to produce. The film includes a lot of time spent on the gofor goforing on the freeways of L.A., stereotypical characters who are all gross exaggerations for comedic purposes, some clumsy token sex and nudity, and, believe it or not, a mildly entertaining story. Recommended for people in hospitals in full body casts or traction who can't get to the remote but need something to take their mind off the itching.
