Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Two passionate kisses between Blank and Debi, the first shortly after they meet and the second during the highschool reunion. In the latter, Debi removes her shirt just before the scene cuts away, implying sex (no nudity).

Mildly provocative dancing.

Violence & Gore

Multiple instances of stylized gun violence, death and some blood.

An assassin on a bicycle is shot by a sniper, and then is repeatedly shot by the bodyguards protecting the intended target. The target and his bodyguards are shortly gunned down themselves by Grocer at point-blank range.

A shootout occurs at a store between La Poubelle and Blank, both of whom wield firearms akimbo. The scene ends with all parties escaping relatively unharmed, though the store itself is blown up. The video-game Doom II makes a short appearance and an oblivious player with headphones on continues playing in the midst of the carnage (comical).

A dog is referred to have being blown up when retrieving a stick of dynamite, which may be unsettling for viewers lacking a sense of humor.

Debi slaps Blank.

Grocer aggressively refers to shooting Blank in the forehead and then engaging in the act of fornication with the proceeding hole.

An intense unarmed fight breaks out at the reunion between Blank and an assassin, resulting in the death of the assassin when Blank jams the tip of a pen into the side of his neck. The body is then wrapped up and destroyed in an incinerator.

A shootout erupts at the home of one of the characters, resulting in multiple deaths. Grocer is killed when Blank strikes him in the head with a television set, and all additional deaths are unknown assassins accompanying him.

Profanity

24 uses of "fuck" and its variations, with many other religious expletives and hard profanities thrown in.

Three instances of smoking, two instances of characters being in a state of an alcohol-induced intoxication.

References to "blow" (cocaine), and an old marijuana cigarette is shown and then subsequently crushed. One character smokes while driving in gestures that may indicate marijuana use, but it's never explicitly stated.

A few intense scenes, but all very comical.
