Oddly enjoyable for a Nickelodeon movie...

I must admit that when I sat down to watch this 1997 movie titled "Good Burger" I wasn't really having much of any high expectations or hopes for the movie. But still, it being a movie that I hadn't already seen was sufficient to make me give the movie a chance.

And "Good Burger" was actually an adequate movie. Sure, it was aimed at a younger audience, as this was a Nickelodeon movie after all. But still, the movie had a good enough storyline that proved to be entertaining enough for a single viewing.

It was a combination of a whacky storyline and some odd characters that actually made "Good Burger" worthwhile watching. I mean, the storyline wasn't exactly storytelling at a grandiose level, but it just had something charming about that actually worked well in its favor.

Needless to say that the odd characters were nicely brought to life on the screen by the two lead actors, those being Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson. But the movie also had great support performances from the likes of Sinbad and Abe Vigoda.

I am sure that a younger audience will most certainly find some greater enjoyment in "Good Burger".

My rating of this 1997 movie from writers Dan Schneider, Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert lands on a six out of ten stars.

Movies from TV shows almost always never work. It's even worse when a movie is based off of a skit from Saturday Night Live. So it's no wonder people were less than inviting when Good Burger came about, a movie based off of a skit from a kids version of SNL that airs on Nickelodeon. Seeing as I used to be a big fan of All That, I decided to give Good Burger another go-round, to see if its juvenile humor still stood up throughout the years. And it did.

Ed (Kel Mitchell) is a man of indeterminable age who works at a local dining establishment, Good Burger. He's basically a stoner that doesn't use drugs (at least in the movie). When a customer asks for a burger with nothing on it, he just gives him a bun. Ed'd rather play miniature golf then spend time "alone" with Roxanne (Carmen Electra). After crashing his mother's car, Dexter (Kenan Thompson) needs a job, so first he tries the new Mondo Burger, opening across the street from Good Burger. But then he gets a job with Good Burger, and Mondo Burger opens, which threatens to put Good Burger out of business. What are Ed and Dexter to do?

As Leonard Maltin puts it, "Like fast food itself, this film offers no real nourishment, but will appeal to kids just the same." Perhaps the first statement is true, but is there anything wrong with that? Sometimes a brainless, fun time at the movies is all one desires. And although it's based off of a kids show, anyone of any age can enjoy it. Even if its juvenile humor doesn't strike you as particularly hilarious, it's entertaining, and more importantly, its heart is in the right place. Most of the humor isn't mean-spirited, the main character of Ed is just too likeable to do anything mean. In fact, Ed makes the movie. With his wacky brand of living, he's a hilarious character, and a nice guy at that.

So don't let the light-hearted nature of this movie stop you from seeing it. You'll get some laughs out of it, like I did, but you'll find that it's a fun movie. I guarantee it.

Silly fun

To state the obvious, I get a kick out of juvenile humor. I was a teenager when this came out and had never laughed so hard in my life. Now I'm far from those days with two children of my own and this movie still cracks me up like nothing else. Even when the jokes get old, the way the actors pull them off will always be hilarious. It's better than one would typically expect from something with a name like "Good Burger."

This being said now, I've never seen All That, although I'm aware of its existence. So my opinion is coming from the perspective of someone who knows only the movie, not the source material. Not sure what fans of the show would think of this movie, but it's harmless fun.

One of my families favorite kid movies....

It's a FUN movie! As college educated parents of a 12 year old and a 5 year old, this is one of our favorites and I registered with IMDb just to comment on this movie since everyone else seems to be slamming it. Loads of fun but not for anyone looking for "good theater". It's pure silliness for kids; with bad logic and improbable plot lines, and the kids are of course the heroes. So if you are just looking for some plain clean fun to watch with your kids, I suggest this one! And there's no dancing bears or singing furniture (but, there are flying, talking hamburgers...) So here's the scoop, if you want an educational show for your kids, go elsewhere. But if you want to sit down, eat popcorn and laugh, get this one.

Not exactly high art, but still funny and entertaining

I am not really in the target audience for GOOD BURGER since it's a movie made by Nickelodeon. However, I wanted to try it since it has some sort of guilty pleasure cult, and it was just ok.

Ed is the cashier of Good Burger, and he is so loyal to his job to the point of showering with his suit on. After arriving on time, he and his colleagues find out that Mondo Burger (the fast food on the other side of the street) is in competition with them because they produce better burgers. After some attempts by Mondo Burger for stealing their sauce all failed, Good Burger's most loyal workers Ed and Dexter (Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson) tries to find out why their hamburgers are huge. And you might guess where all this is going.

While at times it was a bit dull paced, it had some funny moments here and there and some nice celebrity cameos. Kel and Kenan were worth a few laughs from time to time and veteran Abe Vigoda was the perfect scene stealer. Not a film to be taken seriously, just a time passer if you want to kill an hour and a half without thinking too much.

This 1997 comedy stars Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson. Thompson (SNL) plays Dexter, a teen who is ready for Summer vacation. His plans drastically change, when he crosses paths with dim-witted teen, Ed (Mitchell). Ed works at local fast food joint, "Good Burger" and helps Dexter get a job working there after causing Dexter's car accident. They eventually become friends and learn that new competitor across the street, "Mondo Burger" is using illegal, growth substances in their meat to boom business. Ed and Dexter try to stop it and save their establishment from going out of business. Sinbad, Abe Vigoda, Shaquille O'Neal, George Clinton and Carmen Electra also appear. This isn't a bad film with some funny and corny moments I recommend.

Slightly Silly....Lots Of Fun....For All Ages

Once upon a time...NICK actually offered fun programing. Stuff your kids and you could watch together and enjoy. Now...most of what NICK dumps out is the same stuff repeated over and over. NICK..like Disney has become a product generating machine...taking kids,pre-teens, and teens and turning them into "stars" as quickly as possible...because that generates lots and lots of money. Little concern is given to the actual creativity that might happen as well. My kids...now all grown adults...used to watch many of the shows NICK offered...like "All That" and then "Kenan and Kel"....which is where this movie was generated from. Kel...the rather slow-witted half of the duo works at "Good Burger"...(how he got the job in the first place does come to mind..) and Kenan...the smart mouth wise guy...who tries to get through life without doing much at all...star in this funny film. As "Ed" and "Dexter"..they get into all kinds of crazy situations...all the while trying to make it through the summer. Adding to the storyline is the fact that across the street from "Good Burger" is a huge fast food place called "Mondp Burger"..and it has none of the charm of Good Burger...in fact...the plan of the very psycho manager of the place is to put Good Burger out of business...for good...or as he puts it...in the grinder. All the workers there are actually afraid of this guy..Kurt...why I have no idea. He looks about as fearful as a cotton ball. It looks like Mondo is going to take over the burger world...but wait...by accident....Dexter discovers that Ed has created his own special sauce....and suddenly...Good Burger is the most popular place in town to eat...and everyone is happy...for a while. In between....there is a teacher who seems to have it in for Dexter..who owns him money for a car accident he caused. Sinbad plays this character...and he looks like he is stuck in the 70s. He seems too mean for a teacher...but adults are never shown in a good light in movies like this one. Anyway...the show goes on and Dexter and Ed go through all kinds of chaos becoming good friends in the process. They also have to become heroes of sorts as well...unlikely ones for sure. They end up saving the day...and all is well. My kids watched this film years ago..and now younger ones in our family have watched it too...laughing and enjoying it just as much. This movie and these actors were pre-Hannna/Carly/Jonus....and much more fun to watch. While NICK is still cute and kids watch it endlessly..it no longer offers the same fun and creative programing it once did. The "kids" of Good Burger have all grown up and moved on...few we will hear about from time to time...but the fun of Good Burger remains for those who loved it then and will always enjoy it now...with or without kids being around.

Ridiculous 90s kid movie

I saw this and wanted to watch due to the distant memory of it being hilarious. What 90s kid don't know "welcome to good burger home of the good burger. Can I take your order?". Well I was definitely an easily amused kid because oh my goodness is this ridiculous in every way. While Ed is lovably stupid, the jokes aren't funny at all. Most of the movie is a complete miss and a complete mess. It's definitely a 90s kid movie. But you have to love Keenen and Kel, they were a Nickelodeon staple.

I'd say this is one of the best kids movies ever! I never get sick of Good Burger I've seen it so many times, such a good feel film and great mindless fun! Not an Oscar type which is ok sometimes. I love the characters, whacky scenes, cinematography is decent, and the comedy is on point.

Not Nearly As Stupid As the Show

Two dim-witted teenagers are forced to save the fast food restaurant they work at from going out of business, despite a new-and-improved burger joint opening across the street that want to be the "Top Dog" in the fast food industry.

"All that" was a pretty awful show, due mainly to Lori Beth Denberg, a talentless hack. And sure enough, the only bad scene in the entire "Good Burger" movie is the one she appears in. Beyond that, it is a surprisingly clever and slick plot with some stupid (albeit funny) jokes.

Great to see Linda Cardellini in her film debut, and it would be nice if her role was bigger. She seems like an actress who missed out on superstardom somehow. She is still a big deal, of course, but due in part to "Freaks and Geeks" not getting proper recognition until after the fact, she seems to have fallen short (at least in the public's eye) compared to James Franco, Jason Segel and Seth Rogen. A real shame, seeing as she was the heart of that show.

Pretty good

Well, to be honest, I rented this movie just to see Matthew (Matt) Gallant. He is currently the host on Animal Planet's "The Planet's Funniest Animals" and I consider myself a fan of his. And he's not hard on the eyes. ;) But besides Matt, this movie was pretty funny. I find myself laughing at movies that have the stupid humor. And unlike many others movie where I swear the writer must be on drugs, this movie actually had a plot. Not bad. Younger kids, I'm sure, would enjoy it. :)

When you mess with Good Burger...you go in the Grinder!

I absolutely love this movie. It is very stupid but very funny. Ed is an employee at Good Burger who doesn't have a lot of common sense which makes him very lovable and extremely funny. Dexter is the costar with Ed who is a somewhat spoiled high school student who learns the ethics of hard work and in good friendship. The storyline is pretty simple and a bit ridiculous but it adds to the humor. A new fast food joint has opened up across the street from Good Burger and become a huge competition for Good Burger but there is something not right with this new fast food restaurant though no one can quite put their finger on it. This movie is guaranteed to keep you laughing the whole way through.

We're All Dudes!

So, this was a childhood favorite of mine. I wasn't an avid watcher of it, I would just rent the VHS every so often. However, it's been about eight or nine or ten years since. While at BJs Megastore, I spotted the DVD for an extremely low price ($3.99), so I decided to buy it. I re- watched it the same night, and now I appreciate it more. Now, the movie's about Dexter, a punk-like kid played by Kenan Thompson, leaving school to start off his summer, with an exciting one planned. Unfortunately, he hits into his teacher's car and he needs to pay off the debt of the damage on the car of his teacher (Sinbad). So, he is employed at a Good Burger, befriends a laid-back and goofy employee, Ed (played by Kel Mitchell), and from there, hilarity ensues. This movie is a lot of fun, believe it or not, and a REALLY fast way to kill an hour- and-a-half. The jokes are actually VERY funny, and some references that work...work! There was even a reference to Lassie, which is one of my favorite jokes in the movie. Their competition, Mondo Burger, are very unlikeable characters, which they were supposed to be, so they achieved at that. If there's anything I didn't like, it's that the scene in the mental institute seemed to drag on a bit too long, although it did establish that Abe Vigoda's character actually had a reason in the movie, not just another side-character. Also, some acting here and there is lackluster, but it doesn't take away from the movie too much. Also, the DVD contains no special features whatsoever. Although some, most rather, dislike it, claim it's a terrible movie, give it a try. It's a lot of fun, and they actually made a short skit on All That extended and not seem too long and drawn out. Give it a try, you might like it, and even if you don't; Hey, it was cheap!

"Good Burger" was not a movie for me. Kids might find it appealing because of one of the characters and the stupid things he does, but this movie was awful. It's based on a popular skit from the Nickelodeon Cable TV Show, "All That." The main characters, one dumber than the other, are portrayed by Kenan & Kal. As I said, kids might find the movie appealing, but this is one of the stupidest movies I have ever seen. It mostly has to do with the characters that are just plain weird, including an unstable burger cook called Spatch (Ron Lester) that eat flies, and the main villain is simply embarrassing to watch. Aside from that, I didn't laugh once, and adults will find themselves waiting for the end of the movie very fast.

It's about a high school student, Dexter (Kenan Thompson), who wrecks his mother's car in an accident, and his teacher, Mr. Wheat (Sinbad), ends up getting his car hit. To avoid trouble because he does not have a driver's license, Mr. Wheat allows him to pay for the damages. Needing a summer job, Dexter meets fast-food employee, Ed (Kal Mitchell), who gets him a job at the Burger Joint he works at, Good Burger. Soon after, a rival restaurant, Mondo Burger, opens up across the street, the owner sees to have Good Burger close its doors forever.

I don't even know where to begin with this, but it's about a Burger Joint, so I guess I can start there. Good Burger is a small burger restaurant in an urban landscape, and we're not told where but the sunny downtown location suggests California. All the employees seem to have been there for a long time, and Ed is one of them who works the counter and always seems to be late for work. He greets customers with "Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger, can I take your order?" He grunts whenever he talks for some reason, and he is very good at annoying customers.

It opens with Ed getting out of bed, and I'm assuming he lives with his parents based on his bedroom. He gets out of bed with his uniform on and takes a shower with the said uniform on. As he is rollerblades to work, he drags a kid behind him and crashes into a lady and carries her baby off before he rolls through the restaurant doors, flips over the counter and irritates a customer into leaving. I don't get the Ed character. He is either stupid or a little off. There is a scene where a customer argues with him because he ordered a burger with nothing on it, and Ed gives him just a bun. The customer expected a meat patty as anyone would, and Ed argues a meat patty is "something" before the customer tells him to go to hell. That's just one of the moments of Ed being weird.

Most of the humour in the film attempts to come from Ed's stupid actions and his idiocy. It's no surprise that they got NBA legend Shaq in the movie. "Kazaam" was awful, and Shaq seems to be popping up everywhere now. When Ed and Dexter deliver a burger to him, he asks for tomatoes and Ed pulls a Tomato out of his pocket and says, "consider yourself tomatoed." See what I mean by weird? Shaq at least acknowledges that he strangely pulls a tomato out of his pocket, and he says, "You're not like other people, are you?" and Ed just grunts and looks confused.

Dexter's not very smart either, and I don't understand why one of the characters could not be smart. He shows up in class on his last day of high school and crashes the car shortly after. Why Dexter hit is not his fault, and you can figure who causes the accident. When he gets the job to pay for the damages, he and Ed become good friends, and that's where the plot of the movie starts, but it doesn't get any better. When the neo-nazi manager of the Mondo Burger restaurant, Kurt (Jan Schwieterman), shows up, he's an embarrassing joke and always refers to himself in the second person. His employees are like army recruits, and he treats them like garbage. His two assistants are horribly acted and also embarrassing. Eventually, Ed is discovered to have a secret sauce of some sort that he makes himself and, of course, Kurt schemes to steal it.

One of the strangest sequences in the film has Ed, Dexter and another employee, Otis (Abe Vigoda), trapped in an insane asylum called Demented Hills, which isn't offensive at all. Kurt initially tries to steal the sauce but decides to put shark poison in it instead. Somehow, he has connections to people who run a crazy house somewhere in the city. The worst part of the film is a goofy dance-off scene that has to be the most embarrassing thing I have ever seen committed to celluloid. Ed and the patients dance to a song by funk legend, George Clinton, who they somehow got in the movie. I have mentioned already about Ed being weird, and I didn't know what to say when he and Dexter dress in drag to infiltrate Mondo Burger. They sneak in to try and find out why the restaurant's burgers are bigger, and the result is, of course, illegal. When they get caught, their disguises get ripped off of them, and Ed is wearing ladies' underwear, and he seems to be confused when they are all stunned seeing him wearing that. Is this supposed to be funny?

To understand this movie, it's for kids between 5 and 8 years old. I'm sure they may like the film better than I did and the Ed character because he is an idiot. I thought there was something wrong with him. He is innocent at the core, but I couldn't handle his stupidity after he chases his butt. I get that it's attempting to make kids laugh, and it probably will. It's a kids movie through, and through and It's quite colourful with the zaniness, but it didn't do it for me and the adults taking their kids to see it will probably feel the same way I did.

Cinematography in its finest hour

It is such a rare occasion that a film in this day and age can touch the viewer in only the way that a masterpiece like Good Burger can. When I sit back in my chair and reminisce about cinema at its best I think of Casablanca, Lawrence of Arabia, The Godfather, Citizen Cane, and Gone With the Wind. These films all speak to the viewer in a way that most other films can only dream of. They reach out to you touch you deep down in your heart... and in you soul. It's a feeling that transcends all the cultural norms and traditions of today, a feeling that is so much more lasting and fulfilling, one that is undeniable to even the most critical of movie-goers. Good Burger does this and so much more. Not since Weekend At Bernie's has a movie stirred up such strong emotions, such feelings, ones that speak to me on a level of truth that is hard to find in society today.

Brian Robbins ability to direct is nothing short of stunning. His wide angle slow panning techniques from the street to inside the Good Burger fast food facility puts most director's attempts to shame. This is cinematography at it's finest.

Steward Copeland delivers a gripping original musical score for Good Burger that rivals anything John Williams ever could hope to achieve. Steward Copeland's talent has to be heard to be believed and even then it's difficult to take it all in at once. His ability and foresight is truly a breathe of fresh air in an age where most scores have become old and stale.

And last but certainly not least, how can we forget the true stars of Good Burger, Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson? This talented acting duo bring to the film nothing but pure and unadulterated performances from a time long forgotten. Not since the early 1900's during plays on Vaudeville, has acting triumphed and reigned supreme over all else. Kenana and Kel bring something to the screen that even the likes of Deniro and Nickleson can only begin to aspire to. Their presence out shines all that approach the screen and this film is surely destined for greatness in not just Hollywood, but the very threads of American History as we know it.

So to you Kel and Kenan, I salute you. Bravo! May the goodest burger in your blossoming acting careers be yet to come. To everyone else, do yourself, and more importantly your country, a favor and go see Good Burger today.

Entertainment That Just Plain Works

Dexter Reed (Kenan Thompson) is the usual teenager. He's nice, he's hard-working, and he always wants to drive the family car. On his last day of school, while driving without a license, he crashes into Mr. Wheat's (Sinbad) and now must repay the money.

Afer being fired from the new fast-food chain Mondo Burger, Dexter gets hired at Good Burger with a little help from the naive Ed (Kel Mitchell), Dexter is on his way to make the money he needs. But soon Mondo Burger opens and is close to putting Good Burger out of business. Now Dexter and Ed must figure out a way to save Good Burger and figure out the way Mondo Burger gets its burgers so large.

The plot is simple and funny. The film is based off of a skit from the Nickelodeon TV-series 'All That' and does a fine a job at representing it. Kenan Thompson was able to break out of Nickelodeon with this film and is now currently on SNL but Kel Mitchell has seemed to have dropped off after this. The film is a bit pointless and goofy but you'll have a good time.

One of the best worst movies I've ever seen.

This film banks off of absurdity and poorly aged 90s cliches and Nickelodeon humor. It loses focus so quickly that leaves you having to come up with a plot by yourself based off of the imagery you see on screen and it's surprisingly more entertaining than it sounds. I recommend watching this film with others and commentating on every absurdity in a somewhat plot related way.

Silly comedy

Overall this has some hilarious lines. If you like silly humor like I do then you will like this. Ed is absolutely a riot and makes so many comedic lines I wanna write them down and use them in every day life. Kenan and Kel are awesome and so glad my son can watch them.

Good Burger, bad movie

The cast of "All That" returns for good humor in the "Good Burger" a place similar to an old fashioned fast food restaurant. The comedy is terrific, the fun is non-stop, and though cliché, is a passer for kid and family comedy.

A movie for all ages, this movie is meant to enjoy, laugh, and pretty much a lazy movie for a rainy day, as that's what I'd save this movie for, a rainy day. USA aired it today, and since I know that the cast of "All That" is in it, I thought that it might be a bit of a chuckle burner, but in good fun, as Keenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell (probably one of the best young duos of that time) were terrific together, the pieces came together, and everything worked out, and it made it into good family fun together with some lazy day work to get off the bad day.

best nickelodeon movie ever

good burger is the best kids comedy movie I've ever seen because Keenan and kel were the perfect match to be in this movie as they are the funniest pair of teenagers ever.I like it because in the end the bad guys lose which is a good relief.Brian robbins and Dan schneider really did create a very good nickelodeon masterpiece but i must say i am very disappointed with the ratings being low because this is the ultimate adolescent comedy movie.i just wish i knew what the secret sauce was because i forgot what it was that they said it was.soon enough they should make a good burger 2 but call it excellent burger.Keenan and kel really have talent and they should work with it to their full potential

Hey I can't remember the last time I watched this (it should be around 1999) but I can tell that I had a silly time with it. I mean, I didn't take it seriously and it slightly entertained me. Be careful, this is not a clever or hilarious movie but it will surely entertain a specific audience and that is the Nickelodeon audience.

Yes, if you watch this movie without knowing it is derived from a sketch from a kids show, then you will completely bash it. You may think it's a dumb and incompetent movie but if you know about it's background, then you might give it a chance.

To be honest, it should only be appreciated for fans of the sketch that it isn't particularly funny but each to it's own.

I watched it for the great Abe Vigoda who delivers a hysterical performance. Long live Mr. Vigoda!

Gouge Your Eyes Out Bad

'Black Devil Doll From Hell', 'Tales From the Quadead Zone,' 'Nudist Colony of the Dead' (the musical) 'Gandi To Hitler' (the musical) 'Horrifying Experiments of the S.S.'s Last Days' 'Gestapo's Last Orgy' 'Porno Holocaust' 'Chained Heat 2: Stripped of Freedom' 'Santa Claus Conquers the Martians' 'Caligula Reincarnated As Hitler'...... are all 'Citizen Kane' compared to the 90 minute root canal which is 'Good Burger.'

"This is a fun film for kids." say some reviewers. They should all be aware that their kids disagree because they've actually had to watch the movie. They should also be aware their kids are going to fxxxing kill them!!!

The fingernail pulling begins with Dexter (Kenan Thompson) planning a relaxing summer vacation by exploiting every black stereotype on the universe.

Dexter crashes his car into Sinbad whom unfortunately survives the accident and Dexter must pay to fix his car. WHY? Liability insurance will cover it! This is all just a set up for Dexter to take a summer job at Good Burger with nails on chalkboard Ed (Kel Mitchell).

Ed seems to be trying to impersonate Sean Penn's character from 'Fast Times.' It wasn't funny then and it's NOT funny now! When Ed's "Welcome ta Gud Burger home oh da Gud Burger can I's take ya odor." is the highlight of the trailer you know this movie is torture.

And that's the next 90 minutes! Ed repeating the same line over and over again for 90 minutes! The being skinned alive only pauses briefly for a few celebrity cameos such as Carmen Electra being hired to seduce Ed. Prince must feel really low right now.

The studio also apparently had incriminating photos of George Clinton and Shaquille ONeal since they also put in an appearance.

But by far the most humiliating is Abe Vigoda as the janitor. No, seriously it's Abe Vigoda. Yes, the Abe Vigoda. No, this isn't just an internet rumor, it really is Abe Vigoda. OK OK, all kidding aside it really is Abe Vigoda.

And what does Abe Vigoda do in this film? He literally just mops the floors in the background! He doesn't even have a single line! WTF!!! No one is this hard up for entertainment. If they showed this in prison it would start a riot. If they showed this in a convent it would also start a riot! DO NOT SEE THIS FILM!!! Alright, all kidding aside Abe Vigoda really is in this film. Please don't watch it to see for yourself just trust me, it's Abe Vigoda.

Welcome to Good Burger

Kenan and Kel were a big part of many peoples childhoods with their TV show and this great film that will long live in the memory of anyone who sees it. Sure it's not Oscar winning stuff but it is pure entertainment.

The two are talented in their own right but act as a perfect almost Laurel and Hardy double act as they find themselves having to defend their small burger bar against a big chain corporation. While the plot is predictable the performances aren't and there are some truly laugh out loud moments. It's an excellent, hugely underrated film.

Although Kenan and Kel hold the movie together there are some nice guest appearances with Linda Cardellini being the stand out.

Overall a really good family movie that leaves us only wanting to see more the dynamic duo.

It's funny, yet stupid

Good Burger is a funny movie. And it's the stupid parts that make it funny. It's one of those movies I don't get tired of watching. Simple things make it funny, such as the yell Kenan makes when the truck he's on starts to move. And every thing that Kel says. I wish they made sequel. The closest thing was when they once did a skit on one of the late night Jimmy shows. That was funny too. I'm baffled why so many people gave it bad reviews. What did you expect??? Star Wars? It's a movie based on a skit, just like the Blues Brothers.

annoying villain

Dexter Reed (Kenan Thompson) crashes his car and needs a job to pay for the damages. He gets a job at Good Burger with the help of bumbling worker Ed (Kel Mitchell). They face predatory competition from newly opened Mondo Burger across the street. Ed comes up with his own sauce which becomes a big hit.

I like the guys. I really like Kel. I've never seen their show, Kenan & Kel. On the other hand, I don't like Mondo and not in the way that the movie wants. I don't like Mondo's broadly villainous style. They are the neon bright evil. It's bad. The villain is not good and the actor isn't much better. There is a moment when the opposition tries to be sillier than the silly protagonist and that doesn't always work. It's a tug of war and the annoying villain wins out.
