Sad news to report today, especially for fans of sports movies and teen comedies. One 1990s luminary is no longer with us. Best known for playing Billy Bob in the football dramedy Varsity Blues, actor Ron Lester has passed away at the young age of 45. He succumbed to a long battle with liver and kidney ailments. Lester's manager had this to say on Facebook about the actor's untimely death.

"Tonight my friends we lost my good friend and actor Ron Lester - He passed at 8:57 pm Dallas TX Time. He was not in any pain and passed away peacefully. For the Media - I will release a press statement as soon as I have a chance to mourn my friend. Please keep his Fiancee Jennifer Worland in your prayers as she was with him. His friends and family was around him during this difficult time."

Ron Lester, the “Varsity Blues” actor who struggled with obesity throughout his life, died Friday in Dallas of organ failure. He was 45. The Georgia-born actor had been hospitalized for about four months and had been battling liver and kidney problems.

His agent Dave Bradley posted on Facebook that he was not in pain and that his fiancee was with him.

Lester played Billy Bob in the 1999 football movie “Varsity Blues,” which also starred Paul Walker and James Van Der Beek, and also appeared in “Not Another Teen Movie” and “Good Burger.”

On TV, he had a recurring role on the series “Popular” and played Seidleman on “Freaks and Geeks.” He also guested on “CSI: NY” and “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.”

Tipping the scales at 508 pounds, Lester nearly died after having gastric bypass surgery but recovered and lost more than 300 pounds. However, he was not in demand to play the “fat »

'All That' Reunion Happening on Nickelodeon This Spring

Back in October, Nickelodeon launched a new block of programming known as The Splat, which airs episodes of the network's classic animated shows such as Rugrats, Hey Arnold! and The Ren and Stimpy Show. Earlier this week, The Splat revealed that they are also assembling a reunion of another popular Nickelodeon series, All That, with a new video that features cast members Danny Tamberelli, Kel Mitchell, Josh Server, Lori Beth Denberg and Kenan Thompson. E! Online reports that the reunion will take place on The Splat on April 16 and April 17, during a marathon of the original series.

The cast members will reunite for 1-3 minute video interstitials that will air during the marathon, where they will discuss their experiences of working on All That, which originally aired for 10 seasons between 1994 and 2005. 'Godfather' Star Abe Vigoda Passes Away at Age 94

While we aren't even one month into 2016, the entertainment industry has already lost several notable icons. Today, Variety reports that beloved character actor Abe Vigoda passed away in his New Jersey home at the age of 94. The news was confirmed by his daughter, Carol Vigoda Fuchs, who revealed he passed from natural causes.

Abe Vigoda was born February 24, 1921 in New York City, to Lena (Moses) and Samuel Vigoda, both Russian Jewish immigrants. His father was a tailor on the Lower East Side. The actor made his first stage appearance at the age of 17 and performed n small theater shows for over 20 years. He had roles in notable off-Broadway productions such as "Richard III" in 1960 and 1961, "The Cherry Orchard" in 1962-63, "A Darker Flower" in 1963 and "The Cat and the Canary" in 1965.
