The picture quality of this DVD is good most of the time, but sometimes a bit of video noise or some compression artifacts are present. In addition the picture is quite dark and although this is a dark movie with few bright colors, I think they could have done the tansfer a tad brighter. The resolution is fine for a non anamorphic disc with a minimum of aliasing, but sometimes vertical edges look a bit over-enhanced.
The sound is very good and offers a wide sound stage and some interesting surround effects.
