The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

A recurring theme in the movie is the older sister's going through puberty and her emerging sexual feelings. In one scene she appears wearing make up and clothes which are not age appropriate and is scolded by her mother.

A doctor examines a female patient in her bedroom. It is implied that they have sex.

A man and a woman flirt with each other. She is sitting on a counter and he stands between her legs and touches her thigh.

References to infidelity are made in the film

Towards the end a girl accuses her father of having kissed her in a sexual manner. We see two different versions of this event, one where he tries to force himself on her and another where she kisses him in a sexual manner and he fights her off.

Violence & Gore

No gore

A man slaps his daughter while drunk and immediately regrets it.

A girl is almost run over by a bus

A woman's husband shoots her lover.

A man shoots another man in an argument over a woman.

Profanity

Some profanity

At least 8 "f' words (4 used sexually), 1 "s" word, 8 damns, 5 hells, 2 asses, and 5 uses of "G- damn," 2 uses each of "Oh my God" and "Oh Lord" and 1 use of "God" as exclamations.

A couple of scenes of social drinking and fewer of cigarette smoking.

The father character is drunk in a couple of scenes as are other characters

The film opens with a woman saying "The summer I killed my father I turned ten years old" and the film climaxes with his death. Those scenes are fairly intense and may be mildly frightening. There are several scenes involving clairvoyance which may also be frightening
