4/10

Overall summary - there is a little nudity, a passionate love scene with no nudity, several sexual references, and a few scenes with women in bikinis or dancing in slinky dresses.

The scenes of nudity and sex include:

- A scene where a husband and wife kiss passionately; the husband tears off his woman's shirt (We see her bra) as they work their way up a staircase - ending up on the stairs where it is implied they have sex. There are several shots of her in her bra - no nudity. The couple is later shown in bed (no nudity shown). Sex is implied.

- There is a scene that supposedly takes place at a strip club, but no such act is actually shown. An extended dance montage depicts several men dancing with women - slightly suggestive but no nudity.

- A scene shows various women in bikinis interacting suggestively with men. There is a following scene where women clad in bikinis are rubbing and massaging several men.

- There is a scene on a ship with many bikini clad women. Later on in the scene a about half of them are seen topless as the camera pans around the crowd and through the ship, however this is fairly short

Other scenes with sexual references include:

- A woman implies that her over-worked husband has been cheating with other women on her.

- A ruthless gangster carries on about how he happy he is with his wife, and displays offense when an undercover FBI agent complains about his own wife.

- A man says that another man "grabbed his cock."

- A woman who feels neglected calls her husband a "faggot"

8/10

This is a gangster movie from the late 90's with the typical violence from that period. This includes:

- A man beats another man before stuffing a dollar bill into the latter's mouth. We see a newspaper with a photograph depicting a gory corpse of a mob boss.

- There are several short fight scenes, for example in one a man punches another man and knocks him over. There are several scenes such as that - one or two quick punches. In one scene a man strikes a woman.

- There are several scenes of robbery where the victims are beaten, tied up, or have tape put over thier mouths. In one it is implied that a man shoots a truck driver off-screen.

- A man is dragged by a gang into a bathroom, where he is then beaten violently (We see blood covering his body and some blood spurting); we see him being stomped on, being punched and being hit multiple times by a garbage can.

- Three gangsters are ambushed by various men and shot multiple times. Many of the gunshot injuries in this scene are shown close up. A man is shot in the stomach. graphic. A man is shot in the head (In the extended cut, we see some skin fall back) In the regular version we only see blood spray on a light. A man is shot in the shoulder. A man is shot in the leg. A man is shot in the stomach once again. He is then axed in the back. This is the most violent scene in the movie.

- A character is shot at point-blank range (We see some blood). A man uses a knife to dismember dead bodies.

- There are several scenes where is implied that a character is murdered.

- and there is much discussion of violence and murder. For example, a man fears that he'll be "whacked", there is much talk of a man murdering another, and several other scenes.

10/10

As with any gangster movie, there is lots of cursing. 185 uses of the word "fuck" (229 in the extended cut), as well as milder expletives ("damn", "shit", "bastard" etc.), and some scatological terms. Some racial slurs are used. An Asian waiter is called a "Slant-Eyed Motherfucker and a Jap. In the extended version the word "Kike" is used. In the extended version, in one scene, the word cocksucker is used constantly.

We also see a change in the main character through the movie as he becomes more involved in the lifestyle. His character starts using more profanity as the movie progresses. At one point an FBI superior tells him to watch his language during a meet - "I am a Mormon, watch your language."

3/10

Characters smoke frequently throughout the course of the film. There are several scenes in bars where characters are shown drinking. A character discusses having to drink continuously in order to calm down.

There are several brief discussions of narcotics mentioning "a nickle bag a day habit" and other terms. references are make to cocaine and heroin. A drug buy is made in one scene. A ruthless gangster begins to sob uncontrollably because his son is in the hospital after suffering a drug overdose.

7/10

The main character is living a dual life, is threatened at all times, and can be killed by the people he operates with and those he works for. Thus there are many scenes where we think he may be caught.

There are also other scenes of violence and other activities described above which some viewers may find frightening or intense.

Total: 31/50.
