'Survivor: Caramoan': Is there such thing as an un-fun blindside?

8 May 2013 7:01 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Time to narrow down the "Survivor: Caramoan" castaways to the the Final Five, in preparation for the three-hour finale extravaganza on Sunday, May 12. Who do you think will make it? Let's find out!

Madeline

Eddie knows he's a sitting duck and when Cochran asks him who's next if Eddie wins Immunity, Eddie says it'll be Cochran -- he's a huge threat. Interesting that Eddie would point that out to him. Seems like you'd want to make Cochran feel safe.

Meanwhile, Brenda, Erik and Dawn all talk about taking Cochran down too. Ruh roh, Cochran. Even though we are hardly in favor of bringing back oldies all the time, like the show does just about every season now, we are really rooting for Cochran.

And now we get Erik's bonkers pity-party. He's obsessed with food, he says it's like prison, he's so miserable. Oh, please. Suck it up, wuss. You're getting »

Love It or Leave It: Courtney Love Looks Delightfully Earthy Today

3 May 2013 7:00 AM, PDT | TooFab | See recent TooFab news »

It's a rare thing for a "Love It or Leave It" to be positive when talking about Courtney Love, but she actually went and did the thing this time, guys. And while some might call her look -- this look, this ... bohemian New York City look -- frumpy, let's play the Devil's Advocate today and beg to differ. This is probably the most demure and put together Courtney's looked since ... well, probably since "The People vs. Larry Flynt," and that was, what, back in 1996? Almost twenty whole years ago? Let's just take it, Ok? And smile while we do so? Things could always be much, much worse, don't you know. --Sarah Taylor  Read more »

Dear Capcom, What Were You Thinking? -- A Response to the Fps Mega Man

10 April 2013 2:56 PM, PDT | MTV Multiplayer | See recent MTV Multiplayer news »

Poor Mega Man, he can't seem to catch a break, and despite generating some heat a few years back with the excellent retro love letter of "Mega Man 9" (and 10), Capcom has done nothing to appease diehard fans of the Blue Bomber. Cancellation after cancellation of future projects such as "Mega Man Legends 3" and "Mega Man Online" provided a bleak outlook and hopes were dashed when Keiji Inafune, the Irl Dr. Light, departed Capcom. In another twist, Polygon has uncovered one more shuttered project to reignite the flailing franchise.

Their in-depth article about Armature Studios' Mega Man X reboot codenamed "Maverick Hunter" is a virtual window into something that could have been. As a developer that spawned from Retro Studios, there are more than a few connections to the fantastic "Metroid Prime" - a game which proved that you could convert a traditional side-scrolling platformer into a first person shooter. Clip joint: films that feature yelling

28 March 2013 3:00 AM, PDT | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

Modern recording gear means movie actors don't have to shout to be heard. So those moments when actors roar from the bottom of their lungs are to be treasured

This week's Clip joint is by Guardian reader Brogan Morris. If you've got an idea for a future Clip joint, drop an email to adam.boult@guardian.co.uk

Things have come a long way since fledgling recording technology meant film performances had to be big and bold. Movie actors were forced to give theatrical displays for the benefit of clunky, insensitive equipment, but today even the most basic camera and sound kit can pick up the subtlest actorly inflection. Screen thesps are thus not required to operate at a high volume – making a performer such as Nicolas Cage something of a rarity, and loud acting – beyond the stage or opera house – a dying art.

Of course, certain cinematic moments may »

Charlize Theron To Front Crime Thriller About Corrupt Vigilantes

25 March 2013 1:23 PM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

There was a time when Charlize Theron was just another pretty face in Hollywood. Sure, she'd scored roles opposite hot leading men like Keanu Reeves in The Devil's Advocate, Johnny Depp in The Astronaut's Wife, and Ben Affleck in Reindeer Games, but none of these movies made audiences or critics take notice of Theron's skills as an actress. Then came 2003's Monster, a biopic about serial killer Aileen Wuornos in which Theron stripped away all the glamor and gorgeousness we associate with her, and in doing so redefined her career. She won the Oscar for the movie, and notably, it was one she formed off-camera as well as on, producing the pic under her Denver and Delilah banner. Since then Denver and Delilah Productions has created a handful of films, including the wickedly funny R-rated comedy Young Adult, wherein Theron awed critics with her grown up mean girl role. Parker review: Jason Statham, Jennifer Lopez as mismatched double act

6 March 2013 5:37 AM, PST | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

Director: Taylor Hackford; Screenwriter: John J McLaughlin; Starring: Jason Statham, Jennifer Lopez, Michael Chiklis, Wendell Pierce, Clifton Collins Jr, Nick Nolte, Bobby Cannavale; Running time: 118 mins; Certificate: 15

Movie double-acts don't come much more mismatched than Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez in Parker, a bone-crunching action-thriller based on Donald E Westlake's (under the pen name Richard Stark) long-running pulp character. The film is meat and drink for Statham, who fits the role of a laconic career criminal like a glove, but his high profile co-star is all lost at sea amid the bullets and blood of Taylor Hackford's film.

Statham's eponymous protagonist strides into this story (based on Westlake's novel Flashfire) disguised as a priest at a county fair. He's part of a five-man heist team - alongside Michael Chiklis, Wendell Pierce, Clifton Collins Jr and Michah Hauptman - who make away with substantial loot, but are plotting an even more ambitious robbery. »

Kim Kardashian Has Really, Really Poor Judgement When It Comes to Cheating

1 March 2013 8:00 AM, PST | TooFab | See recent TooFab news »

I try to give Kim Kardashian a really, really fair chance, you guys. So fair, in fact, that I don't even watch "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," because I've been told that watching that show would only poison my mind against Kim, and the last thing you want when you're trying to be unbiased is to allow negative propaganda to be thrown at you like Mardi Gras beads from a drunken frat boy. This brand-new thing that she did, though, was completely inescapable, and it made me sad, too, because my Devil's Advocate Game with Kim came to an abrupt end right then. Doesn't it just suck when it's all Game Over just like that? In a new video clip for an upcoming airing of Two Obnoxious Brunette Ladies Do Obnoxious Stuff in Miami, Kim decided it would be totally appropriate to give to her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, relationship advice (Lol! »

Connie Nielsen Joins Kevin Costner In Untitled McG Thriller

7 January 2013 2:20 PM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Danish actress Connie Nielsen has appeared in many American movies, such as Ridley Scott's Gladiator, Mark Romanek's One Hour Photo and Taylor Hackford's The Devil's Advocate, but has yet to really have her big breakthrough Stateside. 2013, however, looks like it could prove the tipping point for her. Not only will she be co-starring in Lars von Trier's daring erotic drama Nymphomaniac opposite the likes of Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgård, and Shia Labeouf, Nielsen will also appear opposite Kevin Costner in McG's next big and flashy thriller. The former seems guaranteed to attract plenty of art house crowds, critical notice and controversy, while the latter seems destined to grab mainstream attention. According to a press release, Nielsen has just signed on to the film, which is officially untitled but was formerly known as Three Days to Kill. She joins Costner as well as a cast that »

MTV Multiplayer's Best Wii U Games of 2012

3 January 2013 1:58 PM, PST | MTV Multiplayer | See recent MTV Multiplayer news »

It's that time of year where we celebrate the memorable games from the last year. The best, the best-looking, the one's that kept us on the edge of our seat, and the ones that nearly had us tossing the controller in frustration. Be sure to check out the other MTV Multiplayer Best of 2012 lists!

Editor's Note: This list is pretty much a plagiarization of Jason's fantastic "Five Wii U Games You Should Be Playing At Launch" post.

I mean really, Nintendo's quirky mix of tablet and console has only been out a short while, so I haven't got to play that many games yet. That being said, my experiences with the few I have had the pleasure to jump into have more or less sold me on a future for Nintendo. Also, take note that this is a truncated list compared to Charles' top 10 games of Xbox 360 and PS3. As »
