The film's main theme is a plane full of convicts so the atmosphere remains tense throughout, particularly as there are hostages on board and in constant peril. There is a significant amount of violence and suspense both on board the plane and in other scenes involving the convicts which can get very intense.

One scene features a psychopathic convict having a tea-party with a small girl. Though criminal activity is suggested, we later see the small girl waving at the plane full of convicts as it disappears into the sky.

An airplane crashes into Las Vegas; the entire sequence is intense.

Overall, the amount of violence throughout the movie can get disturbing at times.
