Violence & Gore

  • During one of the very first scenes during a party, a man in a suit who turns out to be a student protestor shoots himself. No blood is shown, but the tone and the aftermath of the event may be distressing to others.
  • Towards the end, a news report shows a burning corpse of a protestor. The image is grainy but it can be distressing nonetheless.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • It is discovered that John is terminally ill with leukemia, and at moments in the film we see him suddenly drop to the floor gasping for air. These scenes, along with the ending where John seemingly goes to the harbor to die, can be distressing for some viewers.
