Rowan Atkinson cameos as Mr Bean in new Chinese comedy

Simon Brew Mar 21, 2017

Top Funny Comedian: The Movie sees Rowan Atkinson reprising the role of Mr Bean. Chances are you won't be seeing the movie, though...

Rowan Atkinson had apparently all but retired the character of Mr Bean – and yet it turns out he’s filmed a special cameo in a new Chinese comedy.

The film, Top Funny Comedian: The Movie, follows five people who head to Macau, China’s gambling capital, and then get lost. Mike Tyson intervenes, to give them some help. If you’re already thinking The Hangover here, then you’re on the right lines.

Atkinson’s role isn’t a big one in the movie, and it’s unlikely that the film will get a release in the UK. Furthermore, he doesn’t speak Mandarin, and his co-star, Geu Degang, confirmed that he communicated with the rest of the cast using facial expressions and gestures.
