This was on TV the other night. I started watching without any great hopes for it, but I found my attention continually engaged by a bright energetic comedy. Heino Ferch is splendid as Nick, the uptight lawyer married to a hard-driving businesswoman. Aglaia Szyszkowitz--splendid name!--is Eva, a waitress supporting her slacker artist husband. There's a lot of good-natured political banter between Nick and Eva concerning their respective lifestyles, which allows the director to play down the kidnapping element. And of course Venice looks great.
