Today one of the biggest actresses is Aishwarya Rai. And why not? She
has impressed it many different roles. But if you look at her in this
movie, you'll know she improved dramatically. However, I fell in love
with her looks. But the movie flawed in many ways. The movie relied on
too many clichéd sequences. Call this movie a DDLJ rip-off because of
so many similarities. But dialogues are quite entertaining. The
Switzerland scenery was alright. The most disappointing sequences in
when the lead characters return to India, nothing happens. And you get
lost, because too much happens at the end. However, the ending was
quite entertaining despite cheap animation.
Aishwarya Rai looked really pretty, but one must realize that acting
just happened for her. She seemed to get to excited in scenes and
overdid them. However, her trademark emoting is something she always
had. This wasn't a horrible debut, but certainly far from the best one
I have seen. She suits her role perfectly, but please emotion is very
important. Bobby Deol was okay but he doesn't know how to dance. His
script makes him funny, but he was an amateur. Shammi Kapoor was the
star. Be it his experience or his loving character, you will love him
in this movie. Anupam Kher's character was very crazy, but props to
Anupam Kher for making this ill character logical. Shammi as the
grandmother was decent in her small role. lot of scenes. Beena was
decent, but also had a short role.
We all know Aishwarya Rai is one of the best dancers Bollywood along
with Madhuri Dixit, Karisma Kapoor, and Urmila Matondkar. So the
director did a perfect job introducing her with a dance and she sure
impresses in looks and dancing in Thodasa Pagla (Kind of Crazy). But
Bobby Deol, who impressed with his dancing in Gupt, needed to learn
some lessons from Aishwarya Rai. He was mediocre in Koi Jaane Koi Na
Jaane, but Aish easily steals the limelight with her charm.. But Humse
Rahogi (With us, You Will), Sitare Aankhen, and Ek Din Kahin (One Day)
made me want to throw something at him trying to dance. But Aishwarya
Rai was pure magic in Ek Din Kahin from her small appearances.
Thankfully there was no dancing in Jaagi Hue Fizaen (The Clouds
Breezed) and Meri Sanson Mein (In My Breath) because they're a good
songs. Uttar Dakhsin is another version of Zara Sa Jhoom Loo Mein
(DDLJ) but this time the guy doesn't get drunk. The movie was
entertaining, but it was very flawed.

She plays a girl spoiled rotten by her wealthy grandfather, and
Aishwarya Rai plays this part effortlessly. Troubled by the death of a
friend who recently got married then killed herself (because of
atrocities committed by her husband) Ashi (Rai) decides to go and spy
on the man her family is setting her up to get married to. Bobbi (Bobby
Deol) is the cocky business man who Ashi has come to Thailand to spy on
but little does she know that he is secretly in love with her as well.
A funny game of cat and mouse ensues that makes up the most part of the
film. Nice songs {but brace yourselves, there are 12 of them}, great
costumes, decent script and a blissful backdrop.
